TheKillerQueen 1,983
I don't understand why people think its a hit. It's one of her weakest, its the next MJH. Theres a reason why it hasn't been performed, cause of its cringey lyrics. Is this something you'd want your parents to listen to? :\ Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise. REALITY 76,381
I'm sorry, but I don't hear how those kinds of vocals are "creepy", I just don't get that part of it. Her image is different, clearly, very different, but I don't think that would necessarily have an effect on the song. Sure, she's done more "mature" things, but people know her for her crazy outfits and her fun dance music. Dancin' In Circles is one of the few songs on Joanne that I think has a lot of potential—granted, if the promotion of the song is dealt with well. If it truly does become a great hit, I don't think it'll really have an effect on what she's doing this era. I mean, yes, the album is more heart-felt and personal than her other albums, but she included Dancin' In Circles for a reason. I mean, she already put a song about masturbating in an album titled with her late aunt's name. If she really wanted to keep a "squeaky clean" image, then she wouldn't have included the song in the first place. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
River 116,561
I said it before, a good radio edit that will short it a little bit, remove the radio-unfriendly scream and the song have a potential to be a radio hit So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I don't necessarily think, however, that this is something specific of the Joanne era. I feel like throughout the whole year 2016 she and her management have made an effort to draw the attention away from her eccentricity and focus more on the music to be remembered as a musical legend instead of a "Madonna-esque" pop star. Personally, however, she lost that image for me during the Joanne era when she tried to play the guitar (don't come at me, she's really not that good at it) and when she talked about Madonna and how she is VERY different because she plays many instruments. How many instruments does she play? The piano and the guitar for all I know and the latter she's not very good at. Generally, during the Joanne era she adapted a way of speaking during interviews which comes off as fake and wannabe-chilled-easy-going-buddy-boys club musician like, she stripped down and discredited many things that made her who she was. TF, TFM, BTW was all about having that Madonna-kind of fame. DIC would be the one single that would be true to her former artistry, so I don't think it would damage her image. By the way, I think musically, Joanne is her greatest album to date and I have always supported everything she has done so far, from PI to the MR music video meltdowns I have always stood by her. It's just I needed to get those few things off my chest! Dude, we all think she sucks with the guitar and is full if sh*t in her interviews u didnt tell no lies here

swordstalker 1,829
If we scrutinise everything so much, nothing will ever become a single. DIC is to "creepy" and sexual, DH is to scream-y, JW is too country, A-YO is too much like Shake it Off, Angel Down is too BLM-y, CTM is to Christmas-y, etc. At some point, she's going to have to just take the plunge. She's almost never going to have a song that's completely perfect single material in every aspect. Bad Romance has that weird "rah rah ah-ah-ah" and that became a hit, so this could truly be a wildcard. I think the song is fine for radio. It has that tropical/reggae-pop vibe that's trendy, but the song is undeniably Gaga with the more interesting instrumentation (especially the sitar, which we haven't heard in mainstream pop in a long time), not to mention the godly outro.
