I'm glad she did take it seriously :applause:

Women shouldn't have to deal with casual objectification, to have their value so casually determined by their sex appeal, to be treated as some sort of prize or catch to their partner rather than an equal.

Yes, it was a small comment - a small comment rooted in casual misogyny. It shouldn't be too much to ask, or demand, that you be treated with some respect and not talked about as if you are some sort of organic sex doll.

Boys need to be put in their places. If Ariana dresses sexy, that's her choice. It does NOT imply that she's an "easy sl*t" and should be talked about in a derogatory manner.

Yes it is her choice of dressing how she wants and I could care less, but neither post you quoted called her an "easy slųt". And me refering her to "jail bail" is taking into account how she looks way younger than she actually is. I really hope no one got offended by my previous post.

I think she's answering it all herself here:

Yes tbh

she's a woman that experiences mysogyny. Why shouldn't she speak on it?

OT: very well said :golfclap: I hope people learn a thing or two from her

She is a hypocrite. Maybe if she wants to look like a feminist, she should start writing her own music instead of releasing lyrics like these:

"I've been there all day, Nicki Minaj
And boy, got me walkin' side to side
Let them ho*s know"

"Wrist icicle, ride d*ck bicycle"

Or photoshopping her body on magazines.

Building her whole image on looks (cat ears, tight clothes).

She is just buying on the idea of writing cute little Twitter statements and make her music look good.

It doesn't end on what she's experiencing. What she's portraying on her music and image is the irony of what she's preaching now.

"We teach girls to shrink themselves
To make themselves smaller
We say to girls,
"You can have ambition
But not too much
You should aim to be successful
But not too successful
Otherwise you will threaten the man."
Because I am female
I am expected to aspire to marriage
I am expected to make my life choices
Always keeping in mind that
Marriage is the most important
Now marriage can be a source of
Joy and love and mutual support
But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage
And we don't teach boys the same?
We raise girls to see each other as competitors
Not for jobs or for accomplishments
Which I think can be a good thing
But for the attention of men
We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings
In the way that boys are
Feminist: the person who believes in the social
Political, and economic equality of the sexes"

I fail to see the paradox. Can't a woman sing about love and sex & wear tight/short dresses and still be against mysogyny?

I think that was one of the meanings of the meat dress; "just because I'm a woman who sings about sex and feels confident in her body, doesn't mean that you can treat me like a piece of meat"

Ariana is right. It's not okay for men to be talking so disrespectfully like that especially right in front of her face. Like how vile can you get? She must've felt so embarrassed and degraded.
