Anyway,  as much as I LOVE PI,  AYO is a great song  too and would have been happy if it was a single.

Stop hating on PI, geez. Have you guys considered the fact that no matter what she used as lead was bound to underperform because of the amount of backlash she had from the past three years? Something had to be the sacrificial lamb to transition into a better single.

Gaga' poor single choices have damaged her so much. She delivers better albums than most contemporaries but chooses weak singles that hurt the era financially. It's gone on since Judas.

Still kinda question why it was chosen. Its one of her only leads that I had to struggle to enjoy, She has so many better songs on the album that could have been chosen and would have fit better with the aesthetic she was going for. It also seemed weird that gaga showed little interest after it was released she rarely performed it.

Perfect Illusion has aged the best and it's become my favourite and largely only track I listen to now. 

I don't think any single would have done amazing. There's not really any standout hits on Joanne.

Well, in this case, we can blame the record company since they were the ones who chose PI. If it had been up to Gaga, she probably would have chosen A-YO since she seemed so enthusiastic about it.
