Because it is a lesser version of Bad Romance.

The Edge Of Glory should have been the second single. Or even the lead.

if TEOG is the lead... We will never have a debut no.1 song on hot BB100........ It's an amazing song but not inspiring like Born This Way...

She was coming off from the Fame/ Fame Monster era, she could have released almost every song from BTW and still get a #1.

And I think The Edge Of Glory would have done a fantastic job as a lead single. It's a huge tune.

I'm probably just biased - I really dislike the studio version of Born This Way. I guess , it did a great job representing the message but that's it for me.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

That's what I think too. But for us Monsters,  I guess Born This Way as lead single was more exciting. :)

TEOG is huge in Canada and still is. Judas is actually the only song by Gaga (other than million reasons cause idk whats going on with that) that I haven't heard on the radio, and I've even heard A-Yo on the radio

fans are overrating the "controversy" to be honest.... please post relevant news articles and magazine covers discussing this controversy? You will find a few youtube rants at best.

If anything, the controversy was that Judas was a Bad Romance rehash

She released it right before Easter (I believe on Good Friday, the day that the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated). Many people in the US were upset about it, and actually called into the radio for them to not play it out of respect. The Edge of Glory became the single 2-3 weeks later.
