...this is how this era would go/would have gone.

Enjoy :poot:

The lead single from Gaga's fifth studio album is announced. It's called Dancin' In Circles and it features well-known rapper Nicki Minaj. The single gets released alongside its music video on Friday, the 26th of August, 2016, right before the VMAs. Gaga performs it at the VMAs 2 days later. (Now clearly radios would have supported any song Gaga would have chosen as lead single, I mean, they even supported PI, until they realised it wasn't gonna be a hit :awkney:, so radio support wouldn't have been an issue for DiC. It's clearly a very catchy, radiofriendly song and it has the "~tropical~" kinda feel so it would sell very well and it would stream pretty well too since Nicki would be in it). So when the Billboard charts come out the folliwing days, Dancin' in Circles is (AT LEAST) a top 5 hit (I honestly think it could have even gone no#2...). Radios play it like crazy the following weeks and it clearly becomes a hit and Gaga's biggest since TEOG. With this song Gaga has regained radio's trust and has left an impact as a new streaming force.

The following weeks Gaga announces the title and cover of LG5. It's called Joanne and it's dedicated to her long gone aunt who died at the age of 19 from lupus. Three songs get released before the album comes out: Joanne; John Wayne and A-Yo. A-Yo is officially announced as the second single and it's sent to radios. The video is released on 14th October and radios start spinning it regularly around that time too (cause you know, now they trust her, cause her lead was a success, unlike PI :awkney:). To promote the album Gaga goes on a small 3 stops Dive Bar Tour  (I wouldn't change anything about it honestly, I loved the dive bar tour :diane:). The album comes out on the 21th of October. Because the lead was a success (+plus we know it is selling/it sold pretty well even in real life), the album sells around 500k SPS in its first week. Gaga goes in several shows to promote A-Yo(basically she promotes A-Yo just as much as she promoted Million Reasons in real life) and also performs some of the promotional singles she released earlier (Joanne, John Wayne). For example, she gives an amzing performance of both A-Yo and John Wayne on the VSSF Fashion Show!      A-Yo peaks on the billboard top 100 chart at (best case: #5, worst case: #10~#12). It's a solid sized hit, so radios clearly don't abandone Gaga. Around Christmas she announces that she'll have a double single release. She'll release Perfect Illusion and Million Reasons both as the next singles. Both songs are sent to radios and a music video for each song comes out just a week before the Super Bowl (the music videos could be the same as they are in real life, a continuation of each other, it doesn't really matter to me). She performs both songs on the Super Bowl half-time show and Million Reasons (obviously) takes off and it goes no.1 on itunes. It clearly is prefered much more than PI by the GP so radios decide to only play MR. It's a very digestible and radio friendly song so it becomes very popular really fast securing gaga another (at best top 3~5 hit, at worst top 10 hit). MR's era continues for most of spring. After announcing the Joanne World Tour, Gaga does another double single release. She releases both Diamond Heart and Angel Down as the last singles from Joanne. Both of them get a video and get sent to radios. However none of those 2 songs become very successful commercially, because of their alternative sound and because they are the last singles and don't get much promo.

Ps: Dancin' In Circles gets nominated for a Grammy in 2017 and Joanne gets an AOTY nomination in the 2018 Grammys. Angel Down, Million Reasons and (maybe) Diamond Heart are nominated too in 2018.

For everyone that read this, I'm not bitter or unsatisfied with this era. This post is (beside very long and pointless :poot:) just my perverted version of fan-fic and it's obviously not meant to be taken seriously. :ladyhaha:

You can hate that song but you gotta admit it would most likely be a pretty huge hit :excuseu:

I don't think a song with another artist would've been a good idea for her first single. I'm glad it was just her.

Oh no, my hopes wouldn't have been high if we had had DIC, John Wayne and A-YO to promote the album... I'm happy we had Perfect Illusion, Million Reasons and a few other performances, it gave us a clearer idea of what it would be.
