If you wanted to address something diffrent, my bad. I just thought it's funny that people now start saying that the album was doing so well because of hype, when 3 months ago you couldn't escape the meltdowns of Joanne being destined to flop. I wasn't really on the site three months ago (i was a member but i wasn't active) and the era really has been underperforming since the beginning. The first week sales of Joanne were shocking actually, even predictions were raised halfway through the week and i'd say thats because of the amount of promotion that went into the album that week. I wouldn't say the album is doing well though.

How can you compare a sexy RnB song with a folk ballad? You can't say one of these songs is "better" than the other. They are two way different genres. You can say that you prefer one of these songs over the other.

Closing out to 400k while being at the second single and the album era's end not in sight is FAR from underperforming in this day and age. Especially when you consider that like... barely 30 albums crossed 400k in 2016. She hasn't even left the the top 30 sales chart ever since the album got released. U been on ATRL too much where people try their best to convince others that Gaga is a flop or what? No, i'm not on ATRL. What i've seen is that Gaga has no presence on streaming services. Million Reasons hasn't at all taken off and i don't have the stats right in front of me but it doesn't seem like she's shown much growth in streaming at all i.e Daily Play Counts. I'm not positive on when she crossed 400K but with 200K during a first week it seems kinda clear the album was front loaded.

If you wanna take SPS figures, she's actually well over 500k on her way to 600k now, I was talking about pure sales. MR isn't taking off because radio refuses to play her in a monster-esque "Maybe she will learn from this and serve bops the next time" hissyfit. The song has virtually no airplay and still hangs around in the 60's of iTunes. Rihanna has almost 10 times the airplay, gets massive updates every day and barely wiggles around in the 30's and 20's. I gotta say tho, she really does not have a good presence in on Spotify, but judging from who actually bought the album it seems like the main chunk doesn't actually use streaming. Plus, it's hard to build one when your songs get mysteriously removed from major playlists after one week (if they're even added at all.)

It's not like many people who are excited about it randomly tweet about it in the middle of January anyways. was NickARTPOP

ArtGagaPop 61,940
I cant at people still blaming million reasons as a song for its under peformance It's clear if radios were playing her like they should the single would already be top 10 right now if not higher since the gp loves million reasons. Also streaming is a problem because lack of playlists on spotify something flop singels even have making them have high streams. Just look at italy, the radios were playing million reasons since the start and it's been top 10 on iTunes since forever and got playlisted on spotify recently making the song stable in the top 50 most streamed songs, still growing along with new peaks on offical charts (peaking 13 this week). This would be the case WW if the song was top 20 on overall radio everywhere.

Million Reasons i don't think is taking off for a number of reasons, it might be the fact its a country-esque song but in this year a song needs more than radio to survive. Radio Stations go by how a song is doing on other formats in order to decide if they'll play it or not which is kind of a messy system.
