Honestly, 95% of the time the performers pre-record their voices. Even Mj back in the day did, and that performance is iconic.I think it simply comes down to it being live, and they might be worried about mistakes, or a mic dropping, stuff like that. I think it's more just to be preventative. It's still there real voices, so I personally don't care. Beyonce didn't lip sync that one super bowl, but that was the year she got in trouble for lip syncing at obama's inauguration, so she really had no choice. lol.

I think she may be asked to pre-record some parts because of some technical reasons. It's all about NFL' wishes, not really Gaga...
