I can read, I just can't believe what I'm reading.  

I think you need to educate yourself more about racism and discrimination. 

The language cannot be synonymous with terrorism no matter what you say. You conveniently skipped how many other languages can sound like Arabic, therefore these people are just plain racists and bigots.

OT: this isn't completely surprising as I travel with my family a lot, and about half of the times we're always delayed, questioned in another room about our reasons for flying, and then sometimes looked at strangely on the planes. And I'm what people may say are the "whiter looking" middle easterns 

Its completely unreasonable and actually a bit psychologically unsound to be that suspicious about a forgein language (similar to what happened to Japanese and Asian Americans in general). Sad but a not so uncommon event when flying as a foreigner.
