I find that a lot of younger, more privileged (in relation to subsequent generations) like to feel more oppressed than they are. Anti-Islamic rhetoric and prejudice is extremely real, as is racism, homophobia, and the likes. Young people most definitely still encounter these terrible parts of society, but I do believe some like to pretend they've been victim to things that never happened...like the young woman who claimed she was a victim of a hate-crime in NYC when there was video proof it never happened. Now this. 

Assault, abuse, racism...this isn't something you make up for attention or to feel like you're spurring a movement. It's something real that has disastrous effects on its victims. I hate how this nonsense takes away from the victims. We all believed his word, and now it may not be true? It may be a prank or a lie? Ugh, so gross.
