If You Could Have Planned the Singles...

Just for fun, since we're all little managers on here. If you could have planned 4 singles from Joanne  from start to finish. Which 4 and why?

here are mine

1st single: DIAMOND HEART (clearly should have been the lead single in my opinion, it has a stadium anthem chorus, its the perfect bridge from old Glam Gaga to the new Stevie Nicks Queen Gaga, also would have been more appealing to casual fans and has very quotable lyrics, the number one complaint i heard from my casual fan friends for Perfect Illusion was they didnt like the way she sang the word "LOVE" in the chorus and it was too repetitive, so this song is similar to PI in tone but i think delivers that lead single punch much better)

2nd single: JOANNE (i would have chosen this song as the emotional ballad instead of Million Reasons because i believe its a better song and also would play better on the radio, it has a less country flair (more folksy), the production is better, & is more in line with the acoustic songs they play on the radio like "This Town" or Ed Sheeran. Plus i would have planned an epic 12 minute video of the story of Joanne.

3rd single: A-YO (clearly a smash, the video would have sick choreography)

4th single: HEY GIRL (by this time she's had 3 huge hits and isn't worried about the charts, this choice is all about the music video, i picture two disco queens  in amazing pant suits with big hats on, holding hands down the streets of new york at night singing too each other, all about girl power)

what would be your choices?

1. Sinner's Prayer (to fvck with the sanity of LMs and laugh at the meltdowns)

2. Perfect Illusion + video on the same day (such a wasted club banger :diane:)

3. A-YO (with vid a few days later, itd introduce a new sound to mainstream radio and with the perfect timining it has hit potential)

3. Cum to Mama (single for the SB, if the performance is political, video in the commercials+tour announcement the day after)

4. Joanne (a simple video made out of past tours, as a welcome to the Joanne Balls Tour)

my name is danny but tonight call me managenny :sis:

I'll give a shot.

Diamond Heart. Same teasers as Perfect Illusion, with those pastel colored banners. It would obviously be a hit if this was the first single. The buildup to the chorus, the vocals + instrumental only, the Americana feeling, very fitting for a first single. Same visuals as Perfect Illusion, crop tops, denim shorts, and a pony tail.

A-YO/Million Reasons. Why not have two singles for the second single? A-YO for the US, then Million Reasons worldwide. It will introduce a new image of Gaga to the world, plus a ballad single. A-YO would just bring that dance-pop Gaga back.

Joanne/John Wayne. Again, double singles. This time, Joanne for US, then John Wayne worldwide. It would introduce US to the stripped back Gaga, then the return of Gaga worldwide. Perfect for Super Bowl in my opinion (if she already released Diamond Heart as a single)

Dancin' In Circles. I know this might not be that radio friendly because of the meaning, but it would obviously be a summer smash.

Hey Girl. The last single. A very high video with hippie like visuals, Gaga and Florence running around the city. Released at the first leg of the tour.

1st Single: Diamond Heart (Basically for the exact same reasons the OP stated. It's a perfect fusion of Glam Gaga with Joanne Gaga, it's instantly catchy, and it's perfect live performance song.)

2nd Single: A-YO (A dance-friendly bop, catchy, good single material)

3rd Single: Million Reasons (A nice ballad after the first two up-tempo singles, allows Gaga to showcase her voice, vulnerability)

4th Single: John Wayne (A bit of a risk, but it's catchy, and some club-friendly remixes would sound epic)

5th Single: Angel Down (A deeply heart-felt ballad to close out the era)

1. A-YO as the lead single because I think it would have gotten more attention and love as the lead single than PI did, as it fits the radio format a bit better as a nice "I'm back b!tches" banger

2. Million Reasons (wouldn't change this) cuz it's about damn time one of her more emotional power ballads was a hit single

3. Dancin' In Circles after MR because it's got the most "classic Gaga" element with that chant-like hook reminiscent of her The Fame/Fame Monster stuff (like in LoveGame/Bad Romance/Dance in the Dark) and also given that the song is current, with the slight dance hall/reggae dance beat.

4. Diamond Heart at this point because it shows off Gaga's new sound as listeners by now should be well aware of her new direction and also satisfied with the Gaganess of Dancin' in Circles. And Diamond Heart is HUGE and really needs to be a single IRL

5. Angel Down
