Gaga + A Star is Born

So Gaga's recent facebook posts and statements prior to that really highlights how she doesn't want fame nor accolades anymore. What i find interesting is that after her Golden Globe win, she is moving on to the silver screen with a film about a young singer/actress trying to find fame. How do you think this will translate to her acting? How about the music she will create for the film? I am sure she will not disappoint with the music, but her acting would depend on whether she lets her current outlook on fame affect how she interprets the role.

I hope she tackles this role professionally because I find it hard to console the fact that she wants to improve as an actress but also not want accolades/fame, which would help her land more roles. Your thoughts?

Where exactly did she say that she "doesn't want fame and accolades"?

I'm sure her role in a big film will show her that sometimes it's good to be famous as she gets to evolve as an artist and make her realise that there are happy moments as well as bad ones when it comes to the fame

I mean, if anyone knows about fame and the pressures of fame and whatnot, it's Gaga. I'm sure she'll do fine. She always takes her work seriously and tries to embody the character or persona that's created she's created/created for her.

Side note, my interpretation of that quote was that she'd rather fight for something bigger than the fame and the accolades, rather than for the fame and the accolades themselves. It's something she's always considered and done, yeah, she had an obsession with fame earlier on in her career, but she's always been striving to fight for something bigger than that.

You're splitting hairs. It's essentially the same. She's new to the acting industry. She needs to build up her career. Actors make it their goal to be recognized through their art unless she plans to be an actress for small roles only.

Same here. I'm in a really weird place right now, trying to make sense of what is going on with Gaga. Her psychological and emotional problems clearly maintain a grip on her outlook and career still.

It's actually not the same at all. The two statements are very different. She is saying that the truth of her career, at least going forward, is the most important thing to her, not becoming more famous or getting awards. This does not mean that she wouldn't want to, say, win another Grammy or have another hugely successful album.

And as for the second part, again, this is incorrect. Been around actors my whole life, and a handful of them were fortunate to be on Broadway, television, and/or film. And I can say that none of them went into it with a goal of awards or fame. They went into the business because they love the work itself.
