Katsuki Bakugo 9,788
The problem I have is that you didn't put the songs in order of the tracklist... Oriane 21,116
Every one of her albums has some radio-friendly songs and some non-radio-friendly songs... For Joanne I think Sinner's Prayer, Come to Mama, Hey Girl, maybe Angel Down, and the songs from the deluxe edition are not very radio-friendly (doesn't mean it wouldn't work, there are always some surprises). But I can easily hear the other ones being played on the radio. The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic! PopThatArt 2,193
7 hours ago, Enigma said: o<(0_0)>o There's been a lot of talk about how some songs on Joanne are not radio friendly. But I say the whole album is not radio friendly for one reason or another. Diamond Heart: It's alternative sound is not trendy A-Yo: Most radio friendly song but it still has a non trendy country vibe Million Reasons: Radio Friend lyrics but not a typical sound for a ballad Perfect Illusion: Catchy but it's 80s and alternative sound are just not in. Also it's vocals are not the typical smooth vocals people are use to in today's music scene. Joanne: Pretty much the same as MR. Too folksy for radio Dancing In Circles: has the most radio friendly sound but still weird. It's masturbation lyrics might be a turnoff. John Wayne: Fun and energetic but still heavy on county and rock. Siner's Prayer: relatable lyrics but when was the last time you heard a Western sound on radio? Hey Girl: Once again relatable lyrics but not a mainstream sound. Angel Down: A good message and good vocals but might be too political for many. Come to Mama: Fun song with great message but it's 60s sound is not in. Bonus tracks: Basically the same non-trendy sound problem. So as you can see, Gaga simply made what she wanted to make with Joanne in terms of themes, sound, and styles with little regard for mainstream trendy music. So if she is to have a hit this era, it will be because the radio decides to take a risk in one of her songs. Why are Monsters and everyone else so concerned with everything Gaga does having to be radio friendly though? Why is that all that matters? This is seriously getting out of hand. Actually it's been out of hand for like 3 years now, there is more to music than "being radio friendly". Fans especially need to stop being so critical of Gaga and have a bit more expectation than for her music to be radio friendly or to be trendy or what will sell, all those things are just superficial and don't mean a thing. Also, Gaga has proven she can make a complete pop album and have tons of hits, why does she have to keep proving she can follow all the other girls? That's what The Fame was about, The Fame was pretty much an experiment to trick the masses into thinking she is a typical pop girl, when she is so much more than that, her music is so much more than a hit song or a radio friendly hit or a chart position. Then with the Fame Monster, she continued to generate those hits and with Born This Way again, why does she have to keep going in the direction of pop and dance and mainstream to make you all happy? Why do you expect her to keep dishing out music that will make you happy if it's a number one? Why can't you be happy with what Joanne is, accept Gaga for what she is doing now, and just stop complaining? I think you are all just way too happy and too eager to dislike what Gaga is doing than like it and accept it. You like putting down her work just like all the haters do. You have become a very unaccepting fanbase, Monsters truly have. It's easier for you to dish out the nasty comments and complain than to truly listen to the music, and to the lyrics and just look at chart positions than put emphasis and value where it should really be. On the quality of the music, what Gaga put into the music, what the lyrics are about, what Gaga is trying to say, what makes Gaga happy, the message of the album, of the music, where she is right now in her life, etc, its way easier for you to look at the superficial chart position and what radio thinks than to form your own opinion of the music and to judge it by more than what position it holds. You've been tricked by the generic popstars into thinking what they do is the correct thing and all that matters, when music is so much more than that drivel they dish out.
