My take on "what happened to Gaga"

she lured the sex&sass-obsessed gay community with her shady playgirl/perfect pop star persona, tried to tell them her ways were realized escapism while theirs more of a blind fight with inner monsters, reminded them they don't have to feel torn and run from duality because you can always rewrite your own prophecy and be reincarnated, once more advised them to stare at the reflection of the "art" that has become them long enough for the pain to transform itself and explode in celebration of the chaos inside their heads... all of this only to realize that most of the change she witnessed was merely façade and adaptation to the social "progress" that took place since her debut.

so now that she's perfectly disillusioned, she's telling the story of two years ago when she decided she will use jazz and acting the way Bowie used soul and acting right after his glam/blitz period. they both did this in order to abandon expectations and smoothly morph into the pop cultural gurus they aspired to become, and not a parody of their breakthrough... because, ultimately, "tomorrow belongs to those who can hear it coming."

so let's hope she "honestly knows where she's going," folks :staymad:

Hola Soraya

Spot on! :applause: This is the first Gaga-analysis that I've read that's well-rounded rather than being a shade-Gaga-fest.

What people fail to realise is that being confined to a box and being subservient to meeting the same high expectations and standards is suffocating. I think that Gaga is on the right track baby because she was born this way. :sis: It would be delusional to expect the road forward to be lined with roses along the way. As Little Monsters our duty is to stick with her through both good and bad times, through both thorns and roses. I get it that some people are disillusioned with this era but they way the express themselves is plain disrespectful at times and frankly not very BTW of them... :hor:

Im not sure i understand what you are getting at.

she realized that the messages she sent to the community that made her famous translate only if its members are willing to take in more than the pop thrill so she decided she should move on and focus on the bigger picture in order to influence culture more.

Exactly. We don't always have to agree but for the love of god don't viciously attack someone just because they don't share your opinion. We tend to forget that gaga loves us unconditionally. She has always been there no questions asked. We should love her just as unconditionally and we should be there for her just as she's always been

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
