Did the ARTPOP backlash destroy Gaga her creativity?

Featured Posts

During the ARTPOP era, Gaga couldn't stop talking about putting art and pop together, and embracing creativity. The whole era was built around bringing out your inner creative spirit and embracing it.

During artRAVE she even gave a speech about never stop believing in your own creative vision.

And then we see the Million Reasons video..

Could it be that because of all the (undeserving) hate ARTPOP got that Gaga just stopped embracing her creativity? I would have never thought Lady Gaga would release a video of her just walking around in a white room.

It just looks like Gaga has lost her drive, and hasn't got a stimulus anymore, because it seems like she doesn't care anymore.

During earlier years she WANTED to be the best and the top artist, and we could see that because everything she did was high quality and thought out, but now it just looks like she doesn't really care anymore about creating amazing visuals or bringing her creativity into the visuals of her music.

What are your thoughts?

If the critics were able to affect Gaga's drive, passion and creativity, then Gaga is not an artist after all.

I think it made her super afraid to push the envelope and release conceptual music, thus... the Joanne era :lolly: :poot:

It made her basic (except for some new songs) :green: I think she's afraid of pushing the envelope and wants people to like her... oh well.

Too many people here with moral superiority complex.

At this point i don't care 'what destroyed' her. If she's not able to serve us an actual album with good visuals, then she can feel free to quit her career. It's just too much that we went through all of her transitions, Cheek to Cheek, Acting & etc, and what did we geet, old & used outtakes. If she wanted to show us her personal side (although i don't agree) personal thing needs to stay personal, she could've released the Terry/Gaga documentary, that she never put out.

At this point she just proves how insecure she is, changing genres on every album, she contradicts herself all the time.

The only prisons that exist are ones we put each other in..

At this point I want ARTPOP back, concept-wise :awkney:

Joanne is very alienating

I was more in-tune with what we were gonna expect, and Applause rocked my world as a lead single. DWUW would've exploded.

But I never want her to suffer the way she did during that era.

I'm only commenting because of how in site lingo the word her (or ha) has now become a possessive particle connecting the two main components of any possessive noun phrase (cf. Japanese no, which functions similarly) and now the title of the thread is evidence that a phrase constructed with possessive her is able to be used grammatically as a direct object.

Fascinating.

I feel like she's dying to let out CrazyGa but has to continue her commitment to her 'normal' Joanne ways for the moment.

You're being ridiculous.

The videos piece together to make a story and you're complaining at minute 9?

Get a grip. wait for it to start.
