MR MV Critical Reception

These reviews and analyses are from Million Reasons Wikipedia page, and they are considerably positive about the emotive nature of the video.

V: "The second video from the 'Joanne' era isn't as intense as "Perfect Illusion" but just as powerful, and much more personal... The reflective video steers clear of the traditional love narrative and makes the song about the team around her.

"Gaga was traumatized by the lack of care with which she was handled in her earlier career, forced to tour even though she was in pain, which is perhaps represented by the 'Perfect Illusion' video where she is literally thrown into a crowd. The video for 'Million Reasons', then, shows how her team—her family—picked her up again, and helped her heal in creating the new record."

Spin"The visuals keep in line with the emotionally vulnerable themes running throughout the LP... Emotionally transparent Gaga also dons her album cover outfit as she plays her guitar."

The Muse"In the brand new video, she hews to her Stevie Nicks aspirations with a filmic play on the rock-and-roll mythos, attaching imagery of everyday backstage tour preparation to a song of loneliness and isolation, life on the road forever breaking its practitioners."

Mic"The video, as with most Gaga productions, is a highly spiritual journey."

Digital Spy: "Lady Gaga's breathtaking 'Million Reasons' music video is actually a sequel to 'Perfect Illusion'... The poignant video highlights the theme of loss and ultimately redemption in 'Million Reasons', which Gaga so eloquently performed at the Royal Variety Performance in front of Prince Charles last week."

Bustle: "This emotional video, which shows Gaga in tears being consoled by her friends, will make fans and non-fans look at her differently. She's no longer the outrageous pop star who shows up to award shows in a meat dress. She's now a woman who is finding herself through her music. Gaga's never been afraid to put herself out there, but this video is like nothing she's ever done before. This is a fragile, vulnerable Gaga who is willing to put it all on the line. Not unlike Christina Aguilera in her video for "Beautiful.""

Yeah it's not a bad video, it's a very vulnerable side of her that people aren't used to see. I bet it will connect more outside of the fanbase.

Majority of this fan base see Gaga as our queen,

yes she is a queen but at times she just want to be respected as a flawed human being just like lol of us.

the GP love she the video because they feel connected.

not judging you if you still decide to hate the video but I choose to support this video because I want to see a happy Gaga. She can sometimes have her day offs, she does not have to stay in the shape of a queen every moment of her life.

she wants human connection, I'm gonna give her that. By respecting her more human approach when making her art. She has been giving us a lot, can we for a moment let our queen breathe like a human being?

Bradley

I'm going to admit that it's not one of her most visually outrageous videos but it did make me a cry. And to me, a piece of work which is able to touch my heart is a good one. Even if it wasn't GREAT like Bad Romance or Applause, it offers its value in a different way. It brought tears to my face. So thank you Gaga for once again reintroducing the importance of family and friendship, something I am endeavouring to appreciate a lot nowadays.
