I live in NYC. The state government will protect us to the best of their ability but Federal supercedes State. There's also no excaping Trump's hate parade. He has emboldened hate everywhere. There have been a couple of high profile cases already of Trump supporters harrasing Muslims and Hispanics on the subway. The man is still not even in office. I only see things getting worst when he starts legislating his hate and bigotry.

That's sad to hear. I thought that maybe bc peolple in bigger cities are more open minded, they wouldn't discriminate you, even if Trump allowes them to do so

one of the reasons why im getting a second job...I'll be saving 12K a year  I want to move to Cali so bad. It'll take me like 3 years of saving until I actually move or something.

Oh yes, well that's a problem. I'm very lucky with Berlin I guess. It's a big cosmopolitan city with very open minded people but not more expensive than an average german city

Republicans don't have any more leverage now than they will in the upcoming session in Congress. Any Dem senator could and would filibuster an anti-LGBT law....

How many Democrats does he need to break a filibuster? How united are Democrats, like, EVER? Even if Republicans threaten a Government shutdown or attach it to an important bill?  

So if you know your job well, then you'll know they DO have more leverage. The bully pulpit is the best leverage in this country and Republicans just gained it. Not to mention, they gained FULL CONTROL OF THE U.S GOVERNMENT. THAT INCLUDES ALL THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT. 

But no, Republicans will remain with the same amount of leverage next month...........

Democrats gains two seats in the senate, and the house stay solidly in control of the house. Republicans overall have less leverage. They do not have enough votes this year to end a filibuster, nor will they next year.

Senate Dems are extremely united lmao, people HARDLY ever stray from party lines anymore.

Senate Dems are also fully willing to shut down the government. They're really not intimidated like that.

Nor is there any evidence to suggest that they will confirm a radical Supreme Court Justice, especially since republicans have been blocking one for a year.

Democrats gained two seat but still are a minority in the Senate and Republicans also has the house. How am I not understanding how the government works. Republicans have a majority in the Senate, House, Supreme Court and the Presidency. All that's stopping Trump is but a handful of Democrats in the Senate. 

Anyone who knows about politcs, knows that Republicans are notorious for sticking together and Democrats are know for NOT sticking together.

There's nothing radical about opposing same sex marriage. Not in America and not in this world.
