Miel 15,009
In response to myself being snarky and very un-serious after the drop of the Millions Reasons video, I kind of had a bit of a flashback. For years, Gaga fans have been curious as to how Gaga and her team would go about creating a long-form visual piece for a whole album, or even a continuous visual narrative between music videos. From the proliferation of that possibility during Born This Way, to the almost-culmination of that dream during ARTPOP, it seems that we might now have that dream finally come true with Joanne. With all that said, the Million Reasons music video, along with connection to Perfect Illusion's video, and the confirmation that future videos will interconnect, has been met with some (or lots) of criticisms. On that note, how would you go about it? This is not a thread for bashing the video, or Gaga herself, or anybody on her team (as we have the rest of the forum to do that). Rather, I'm just curious about how the rest of y'all would go about it. --- 3 points in and ready for more

Miel 15,009
My personal idea: I don't really have any ideas for specific songs, but more a general plot that would leave a lot of possibilities for visual motifs and cinematography and fashion pieces open to interpretation. Gaga has talked openly about in-life reincarnation, particularly during the Born This Way phase, where she's stated that the message of the song is about "becoming who you were meant to become, over and over again", or something like that. So that brought me with the idea for Joanne. Each song can be seen as a representation of not just Gaga in different stages of her life, but also of other people through her eyes. For example: Diamond Heart - Gaga at 19, 20, in the heart of NY Joanne - any of Joanne's family members, specifically during that time in 1974 John Wayne - her father, in a sense, as a reckless youth Sinner's Prayer - her sister, caught between her father's strictness and Gaga's own reckless youth and so on. The long-form film would be a sort of abstract metaphor towards Gaga finding herself again, after all the fame, the pain, the glamour, and the betrayal of her past few years. It would visually be about her living her life through others- be it family, friends, even complete strangers, even herself in another life- in order to find what truly means the most to her, and what makes her her. It would go in track order, and generally show her living her life through herself as: -a starving musician (Diamond Heart), as a star rising to the top (Ayo), as her older family who can't stop a tragedy (Joanne), as her father dealing with a tragedy that couldn't be stopped (John Wayne), as somebody who is coming to terms with being alone (Dancin' In Circles... idk, that can be excluded), as herself losing grip of what fame means to her (Perfect Illusion), as herself coming to terms of the loss of love but gaining the epiphany of family and friends (Million Reasons), as her sister living with such big personalities in the household and how it affected her (Sinner's Prayer), as her mother (or even Aunt Joanne) as a source of love and safety (Come to Mama), as a woman who will help another woman get through a similar ordeal (Hey Girl), as any person who uses her power to speak up about the unjust attitudes of society (Angel Down), as her friends trying to lift one another up in another tragedy that may or may be stopped (Grigio Girls), and as herself learning to be happy, and finding what makes her happy (Just Another Day). In terms of visuals, cinematography, and even choreography, I would love to have it akin to The Odyssey: I just think an Americana aesthetic, combined with the backdrops of the heart of NYC, the streets of New Jersey, the fields and seas of the East Coast to the West Coast, and the road in between, would make an amazing art film. 3 points in and ready for more
Red 97,983
I actually wouldn't do anything different that what was done, I think it is a good story that makes sense so far, I just think that it only opens the possibility of Grigio Girls being the next single/part which is okay for me but I know most people think GG is a really weak song If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
