I just saw some of the responses to the music video for Million Reasons, and most of them are negative and exaggerated. But why is everyone overreacting to this video? I mean to me the video made sense and here is why:

1. Million Reasons makes sense as a sequel to MR. During Perfect Illusion, Gaga was under the illusion of happiness and fame, and at the same time she was running away from everything by going to the desert. It was her way of showing her sadness and anger. Million Reasons then picks up right at the end of PI where her friends and her sister showed her "one good reason" (or love) to stay. 

2. The song is very personal to Gaga so it makes sense that she would use real life footage of her backstage and getting ready to perform. Essentially she used her real life activities to tell a story.

3. The video was going to be peaceful and slow because the song is also slow.

Now as far as why I think is wrong for some of you to overreact...

1. You are still stuck in the mindset that Gaga will always provide big budget "eye candy" type of videos. And it was clear from the start the Joanne era is more about her personal story then about spectacle. 

2. "her emotions seem forced". The only reasons why you think her emotions seem forced is because you as a fan know Gaga, and you know that she is just acting while she was backstage preparing for VSFS. The GP won't really notice this. 

3. It is obvious that PI and MR are just part of a long story. And if MR feels incomplete, its only because its story will probably continue with the next single.

If she wants us to see her story of her life she can release a documentary. I want a music video to match with you know, the music. A 3 min Vevo music video is not the place to show your life on a deeper level.

In a way yes. It's very dangerous to have some sort of semblance of expectations when it comes to Gaga although that changed from expecting something else to expecting something good mv-wise

Of course it's your fault.

I never expected anything more with MR tbh,although it could have been done  better.But it is what it is.

Im just glad that the MR era is over and we can FINALLY move on
