ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Yasss @ Solange being #1 over Beyonce. Solange's message is more direct and less filtered through commercial waters. Calm grief and resignation are such common emotions that people who are oppressed feel, but we always have to show anger and defeat or strength. It's a beautifully undersold perspective. Also, imo much more complete of a message with songs like F.U.B.U, some people aren't going to get it, and some people need to realize that some things just aren't made for them (like even Lemonade the album tbh) 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Zazekina 785
I'm glad Solange won... "A seat at the table" is a great album... I would trade Frank Ocean for Childish Gambino tho https://soundcloud.com/zazekina/otra-vez

I honestly had no idea Beyoncé had a sister and that album has been on a lot of these lists. It's culturally significant and may be lost on lots of people, especially people that aren't black, but musically its like, Funk, Soul, R&B. Solange uses ha best soprano and airy vocals here. It's a very calming, relaxing, re-assuring album even though the topic is very heavy and sometimes even sad. It's a beautiful juxtaposition that gives the impression of strength and community even in the face of great adversity "If you don't understand my record, then you don't understand me, so this is not for you." 11 minutes ago, Ferrer Zorola said: snoozefest just like lemonade or even worse Luckily the value of music is not determined by how exciting it is to some people 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
