Yep, I've been bullied and made fun of for my gay taste in music my whole life, even by some girlfriends! In time you just learn not to care...

My relationship with my girlfriend is in serious turmoil because she thinks I'm obsessed with LG and Demi Lovato, I'm a hard out music enthusiast that thinks they're great artists, I play guitar and piano but "my obsession" brings out her insecurities lol and I'm just like wtf trivial and pathetic. I'll update you when I'm single cos I don't change for no one 😂

Where did the hell these straights come from ON GGD :gum:. Why were you all hiding?

Avoiding being hit on. I've heard that straight guys are 1000000x hotter than gay guys. Forbidden fruit? Lol

Actually, gay guys are more attractive to be honest (not generalizing). They groom more. Yep, we "rare species" could learn a thing or two with your gay eye candies. :giggle:

Majority of the responses in this thread are the exact same reason I find it hard to publicly express my appreciation for Gaga, to discuss it to my other friends and to attend her concerts.

How so? Could you elaborate? This thread was just a lot of fun and jokes until this comment.

He means that since Gaga is stigmatized by the gays and that you're gay if you listen to Lady Gaga "no 'straight' guy listens to Lady Gaga that straight men SHOULD be gay for liking her.

Ya'll, that's one of the reasons the GP have a hard time entering the Monster community. One should respect the straights as much as we respect the gays.

There's a lot of irony here because the only people I personally know who made fun of my music taste in Gaga were all straight males... I have only seen straights stigmatize other straights... I've never seen a gay (that wasn't trying to get in the straight guy's pants) *seriously* imply he can't be straight and listen to Gaga.

Even reading through this thread, the jokes are more centered around "wow a straight, he must be hot" rather than "wow he's not really straight, cuz he listens to Gaga!"

Just imagine being a GAY Gaga fan. That was pretty tough :giggle:

I don't know why calling a gay person gay is worse than calling a straight person gay.

I mean, it's common knowledge in this base that Gaga alienated the GP with Born This Way. I get a lot of weird looks every time I bring her up in casual discussion with non fans. It's like I broke a taboo or something. I hate the stereotype that anybody who listens to her songs is "gay" and majority of the time, they just throw that statement into the air, mock and laugh at their disbelief that I listen to her. I've heard "Why do you listen to her? Are you gay????!!1!!11" way too many times that I don't mind it that much anymore, but I still get frustrated about that stereotype and the fact that I could not freely talk about that music, hence me signing up here and learning the stanbases' slangs just so I could keep up.

Gaga alienated the GP with born this way? That is a perspective I've never heard, and respectfully disagree with. Born This Way was about a lot more than gays, it was all about loving yourself and being comfortable with who you are, no matter what. That includes being a straight guy who loves Gaga, embrace that. If standing up for minorities and giving the marginalized a voice somehow alienates her from the rest of the GP then so be it.

I hear you out completely although cannot relate, to be honest here in Canada the perspective is completely different. The GP like her and don't assume she's exclusively for gays, although they acknowledge her leadership within the community. I've never, ever, even in high school been mocked for liking Gaga, and boy I talked about her a lot.  I don't wanna assume much either but the people that judged you seem like shitty people. I would place a lot of money guessing they were also straight... So how is this thread the problem? We are shining a light on straight males that like Gaga, a group you say has been alienated, literally glorifying them. You seem to be frustrated with the wrong people.
