If ARTPOP(Era) would have been what Gaga wanted it to be...

We all know that the ARTPOP era was pretty messy and definitely not what Gaga wanted it to be.

But if the era had been more of what gaga wanted, do you think it would have been more successful?

When I say what gaga wanted I mean :

Aura (lead single)

Venus (2nd single)

GUY (3rd single)

I don't really know what Gaga wanted as 4th, 5th and maybe 6th single, but it could have been anything, from Sexxx Dreams to MANiCURE or Do What You Want, Swine, Gypsy or even Applause.

I also think Gaga wanted to give each song a video (which would have been amazing). Another thing that you can see clearly in many interviews and tweets, is that she wanted to continue the ARTPOP era for more than her previews eras (something like 2 years), so I think if things would have gone the way she wanted to she definitely would have released ARTPOP ACT 2.

If all of this would have happend, do your think the ARTPOP era as a whole would have been more successful? What do you think would have changed?

Tbh no, it was always a creative risk and I think most people think that the album isn't very commercial or GP friendly, especially songs like Venus and Aura (which are both my fave songs off the album). If it was going to be more commercially successful she probably would've had to release DWUW, Sexxx Dreams, Applause and G.U.Y as the singles.

i dont think so, there comes a time in every pop girls career where the world decides its time to tear them down. it happened to britney, xtina, mariah, and it was gaga's turn.

Venus could do pretty well tbh.

A great video would sell it easily.

It would've been a visual album, the app would've been incredible and revolutionary, the album would have sold over 10 million copies and won AOTY at the Grammys, and everybody would recognize the masterpiece that it is.

But that's just in my dreams :grr:

Idk I think GGD doesn't give Applause and DWUW enough credit. Applause charted well and stayed near the top for a while. All my non-Gaga fan friends also really liked DWUW. Basically the era could've been actually pretty solid if the whole DWUW/Venus/Troy debacle never happened.

Still holding out for Gypsy as a single tho. My fav gaga song ever :poot:

ARTPOP Vol.2 would have came true and Partynauseous (ARTRAVE version) would have been released in full and I would have been raving in my room with neon lights:giveup:

What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

I read that Applause ended up becoming her best radio song, beating out Bad Romance

LOL at me answering my own question  :classy::poot:

I think commercially the era could have or could have not had success. But the important thing is that if this is how the era would have unfolded it would have been praised more from the critics as a artistic risk of gaga rather than a flop. I also think the fans would have been way more happy with it.
