Eight of the 10 celebrity accounts with the most followers are musicians, and between them, there are hundreds of millions of followers. Pop star Katy Perry leads the way with just under 95 million followers, which is up from the 90 million benchmark she hit in mid-summer, a feat celebrated by the singer and Twitter itself. Behind her comes Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, in that order. Of the top 10 celebrity accounts, only Ellen DeGeneres (No. 6) and Kim Kardashian West (No. 8) are not musicians.
