I think the worry is how us humans in an advanced society like the one we live in will survive with possible drastic changes happening in the climate. The Earth has naturally gone through changes forever but the rate at which it's happening due to human causes is a danger TO US. Our society might be at stake. 

Not to mention the other factors that come along with our energy production such as deforestation and as a result the extinction of species at a faster rate, the lack of biodiversity, etc.

To me the focus should be on how to adapt and correct current detrimental actions.  Clearly big money 'Trumps' ecological concerns.   Getting said big money to change should be the focus of 'US'
