Her team would do all of that and she'd just sign off on it making slight tweaks. Let's not give Beyonce every drop of credit, there's an entire team behind her and it's unfair to herald her as this godlike talent. Talented definitely in some aspects but let's not overhyped the involvement. FYI, I also wish Gaga would consult her team more and work collaboratively. I'm not giving her every drop of credit I'm just not trying to discredit her. She helmed a project as ambitious and creative as Lemonade and she pulled it off. How do you know that's how it went down? According to collaborators such as Sia that's not how it went down... According to her Beyonce does collage the ideas of multiple writers and producers. She called it frankensteinian. She finds hooks, melodies, lyrics, choruses, pre-choruses, versus, samples, themes and says "I like this, lets match it with this.", "I don't like that, cut this", "I like the pre-chorus, let's make that the actual chorus and change the versus to make it about this", "I like this theme, but I don't like the feeling of the song it should be angrier". She directs the entire project. It's not surprising it went down like that either - if you have seen her prepare for a performance via her documentary the people around her talk about how she will literally pick apart everything from the lighting to how they introduce the song to the costumes to the set design. She won't even eat or take toilet breaks and those close to her will be unable to either. She will literally spend all day and all night directing people until it is perfect - people are signing in and signing off because their shifts have ended and Beyonce is still there telling people what's wrong and what's right. Beyonce is talented Of course she doesn't do it all herself, but that's not something that should be a mark on her talent - that's not something people should be using to drag her. Jennifer Lawrence is talented, but we don't expect her to write, produce and direct the movies she stars in as well. We give the director of a big movie the credit they deserve for being the creative head of the movie even though they sometimes have 1000+ crew members working on everything from cinematography, editing, lighting, costumes to SPFX. We also blame the director when things go wrong. It's hard to curate such a large project and have an end result that is cohesive. Beyonce was the director of this project. She was at the helm. She was responsible for curating and collaging the ideas of a large crew of talented writers, producers and musicians. Obviously those writers and producers are very talented and they added a lot to the project, but like... So what? Emmanuel Lubezki is a brilliant cinematographer - beautiful cinematography. His contributions to films like Birdman and The Revenant are huge, nobody acts as if that makes Alejandro González Iñárritu some kind of poor Director though. He is given respect and due credit for being at the helm and directing such talented people.

Like I said I understand what you're saying but you're acting as if she is this God-like figure because she sat there and said 'yes' or 'no' to a sample or beat and it's hardly justified. She did not actively seek out beats, melodies etc. They would have been delivered to her on a plate and she would just 'organise'. Great vocalist, dancer, performer and organiser but I'm not going to agree that she is this master creator because she can string a few samples together. Praise her for all her over endeavours but when it comes to song writing and creating she is hardly the second coming. JackTheTripper 866
And yet most of those artist have never won or even got nominated for Grammy, which just proves how all this pop robots are bread by record label and slap other people work with picture of their ass to accomedate sales. And if that wont be enoug than there comes aggresive promotion and constant talking in order to convince me how amazing they are and how much more money promo and awards i should give them. Which part of that album is so personal? Did she even personally select people to make work for her, or what? I am generally curious

Harry 26,836
Everyone drags Bey for what literally every other star does. Even ARTPOP was mostly just Gaga singing over beats that were sent to her, some of them existed before ARTPOP was even a thing. How is this any different? I'm not acting like a Beyonce is a God-like figure I don't even consider myself a Beyonce stan, I just think this incessant dragging over her writing credits is stupid and ill informed. "She did not actively seek out beats, melodies etc. They would have been delivered to her on a plate and she would just 'organise'." I mean... That's one way to try and downplay the monumental vision it takes to direct so many talented people and create a cohesive piece of work. There are not many artists out there who could 'organise' a creative piece of work like Beyonce did with Lemonade. Her creative process doesn't follow the nice one-man genius popular myth and it's different from an artist like Gaga, but it's a valid method that takes a lot of talent and vision. If you can't see that, then that's unfortunate
