InsideOutright 1,118
MR doesn't need a remix. Remixed ballads almost never work. Give me the original version of "All of Me" over Tiesto's remix any day. I heard the original way more often on all types of radio stations anyway. Obviously she has something that the GP likes that gaga doesn't. Million reasons just isn't radio material. It sounds nothing like what adele would put out so it shouldn't be compared to her work. Aga Gydal 3,158
The long and short of it is that radio cooperates with artists who are intent on making a splash on that platform. If Gaga isn't budging on her content, then radio isn't going to jump at the chance to play her not-so-radio-friendly music. Of course, radio is still opportunistic, so for things like viral hits or huge pop music comebacks/lead singles, they're going to want a piece of that pie. They took a chance on PI, found that Gaga's not invested in radio hits at the moment, so they're looking elsewhere. A slow unassuming ballad isn't going to rev them up, but something like AYO or John Wayne might if it's well-timed. It's important to get some context on where Gaga is at the moment. She's slowly re-focusing her brand by moving away from vapid pop radio and more into something that can sustain her musically. She's not interested in peddling radio-curated content. And that's great for now, because by aiming for authenticity she's laying the foundation for greater impact down the road. The level of respect she has now as a player in her field is huge, and even if the music isn't on trend, the world still checks for her. That's not at risk of going way. Joanne has absolutely zero pretension, it's sobering, happy and relatable music. It's a singer-songwriter album with elegant production. She needed this music now more than whatever a radio hit would have served. Her sound has improved tremendously since ARTPOP. And one last note: an album's performance is in large part a reflection of people's reception to the preceding one. Joanne is doing quite well following what was perceived to be a cataclysmic career-ender of a project. She sobered up her brand and retooled it to something meaningful. Instead of sulking about Million Reasons not smashing on radio, be thankful that she's still here, more authentic and personable than ever before, with an album that non-fans can respect. She pressed the reset button, and now she can start moving to something bigger again.

Of course, it was only meant as a joke :P But, in a way, both MR and G.U.Y. weren't played on the radio. MR isn't over though, and it got way more promo and exposure than G.U.Y. She can still do the right thing by going on GMA, Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel/Fallon...etc. You know, **** that doesn't only attracted million of viewers during its original airing but also other viewers who'll watch it later on YouTube 'Trending', it attracts a wide audience; but wtf would radio interviews do? Seriously, No body's here for them except her fans + if she's doing it to have good ties with the stations to play her music more often, it's obviously not working. So why not cut the **** from now and act as if you/your team have some common sense. /rant Tell us how u feel girl Ask Jesus Christ who the 5 star chick is
