It seems the lesson they learned with PI is that they're not interested in giving Gaga spins if she's not willing to meet the audience halfway. 'Illusion stuck out like a sore thumb when it came out and not in a good way. I imagine radio stations felt a little bit burned by that.

A ballad is also a slow burn by nature so it's hard to incentivize playing it unless the demand is overwhelming. Not really the case with MR. It's a likable, solid ballad that's been selling fairly well but that's not enough. Radio needs to feel confident in her again, and for them to do that I think she'd need to have a vital hit come up. Maybe the Super Bowl will give her that opportunity, who knows.

Either way there's still room to grow and Gaga's no longer fighting a "ur a flop nao" narrative so not a big deal. Perhaps the consensus is that Gaga's brand is not really radio friendly anymore. Hell Beyonce's isn't either and she's doing well for herself.

It about time until she realizes that radio is full of ****, PI era promo was nothing but a waste of money for Interscope and time for her, if that dumbass Bobby booked her on TV it would've been MUCH better, not to mention that TV has a stronger effect of sales and charts than radio does. She can still do the right thing by going on GMA, Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel/Fallon...etc. You know, **** that doesn't only attracted million of viewers during its original airing but also other viewers who'll watch it later on YouTube 'Trending', it attracts a wide audience; but wtf would radio interviews do? Seriously, No body's here for them except her fans + if she's doing it to have good ties with the stations to play her music more often, it's obviously not working. So why not cut the **** from now and act as if you/your team have some common sense.

Oh definitely, I'm not saying that she isn't completely irrelevant or anything, what I'm saying is that she isn't getting the attention that, say, Selena Gomez, or Justin Bieber, or Rihanna, or Taylor Swift, or Beyonce is getting. They're who's popular, and music has changed as well, Joanne certainly doesn't fit today's music standards.

But did they even play Beyonce on the radio? I don't recall ever hearing any of her songs (from lemonade)

Well the execution and promo for the song have been messy and the radio plays what the gp is interested in. The gp is simply no longer interested in gaga or have any sentiments towrds her. Not to mention PI left a sour taste in people's mouths and was bound to have a negative impact on the second single. Plus gaga doesn't seem to care so why would the radios care?

they are avoiding the song because nobody wants to listen to it and she needs to focus on a new single. like, immediately.

MR is a sinking ship.
