Trump team targeting climate meetings employees/scientists

Donald Trump’s transition team has issued a list of 74 questions for the Energy Department, asking agency officials to identify which employees and contractors have worked on forging an international climate pact as well as domestic efforts to cut the nation’s carbon output.

The questionnaire requests a list of those individuals who have taken part in international climate talks over the past five years and “which programs within DOE are essential to meeting the goals of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan.”

Trump and his team have vowed to dismantle specific aspects of Obama’s climate policies, and Trump has questioned the reality of climate change. The questionnaire, which one Energy Department official described as unusually “intrusive” and a matter for departmental lawyers, has raised concern that the Trump transition team is trying to figure out how to target the people, including civil servants, who have helped implement policies under Obama.

Thousands of scientists have signed petitions calling on the president-elect and his team to respect scientific integrity and refrain from singling out individual researchers whose work might conflict with the new administration’s policy goals. This potential clash could prompt a major schism within the federal government, with many career officials waging a battle against incoming political appointees.

Trump being so against environmentalism is probably the worst thing about him cause his actions are not gonna **** just the american people and land but the whole planet, and for decades, in an irreversible way

The US is already lagging in pursuit of more environmentally friendly policies and now it's just gonna get worse.

We have to be #1 at everything. Can't let China be the #1 polluter, USA is coming!

Trump  & his team's actions are extremely worrying so far. Forget his policies, forget his childish attitude and everything else, it doesn't matter anymore.

What DOES matter now is his constant lying and general disinterest in correcting his lies or misconceptions and allowing the media to report on those lies as if they were fact.

What does matter is his targeted harassment and attacks on any media outlet that even slightly criticises him.

What does matter is the CIA found actual evidence that Russia aided his presidential campaign and his team's response was that it didn't matter because he's won and its over with.

What does matter is things like this, where he is seeking to target specific scientists to eradicate them to replace them with people who favor his views.

What does matter is that his team is extremely opposed to a recount of votes, if he won fairly why is there any cause for concern?

Too many people focus on the social issues he presents, like having right wing social ideologies and general bigotry. We can deal with that.

What people SHOULD be focusing on is **** like this which threatens democracy and the actual planet we live in. I can't wait for this news to be pushed under the rug so the media can go back to talking about that one time he called Clinton a nasty woman.

So they basically want to deregulate America and make living conditions crap.

Don't worry, most of this wont have any immediate effects on you if you are an elderly affluent white man :poot: You might even make more money somehow, we already know Trump has :usrs:
