"Madonna and I are very different. Just saying. We're very different. I wouldn't make that comparison at all and I don't mean to disrespect Madonna she's a nice lady and she's had a fantastic huge career, biggest pop start of all time. But I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I'm a producer. I'm a writer. What I do is different."

Yes yes she spoke such nice things :giggle:

"I'm not just rehearsing over and over again to put on a show there is a spontaneity in my work. I allow myself to fail. I allow myself to break. I'm not afraid of my flaws."

you can twist her words as much as you like but it's obvios that Madge is not her cup of tea :reductive:

The irony of it is the first statement just goes to show how much alike they are when Madonna does the same exact thing and has been for countless years/decades.

Madonna's a trained dancer and been at this for decades. You have to rehearse in order to put on the shows she does. If you don't, it shows in your movements and lack of coordination.

1. I think her speech was very beautiful and powerful. I actually cried a little bit

2. I didn't view her saying she still standing as pretentious, but I can see why it's said.

3. She has made a lot of point in her speech that I agree with and I think that's what made her speech very beautiful.

4. A thing that piss me off though, the people complaining about the Madonna hate on this site (and I'm not saying that I support it), but then they will write negative sh*t about Gaga. Like yes, you can have an opinion, but just like for the people who express their view """against""" Madonna. (I could say the same the other way around too)

Her speech was so good, everything she said was the truth. She's the best selling female artist of all time and she's still going so she deserves to be up there with MJ and the other legends and she shouldn't be afraid of listing herself as one of the legends.

Madonna has left such a massive impact on the earth and her artistry and controversy has massively influenced so many artists. Obviously people can hate her but you can't deny her power, talent, drive and just how influential she is; Madonnas out spoken nature, controversy and fight and passion has influenced so many modern male and female artists even if they don't realise it.

Madonna Louise

You all better get a life. Bitches...........i took the road less traveled by and I barely made it out alive. I was sleeping in a small motel for years, living with some cheap grocery store food............ You have no idea about what you are talking about  here. You only like to pit women against each other. Behind a popstar, there is a story you wil never know.  Being still around is the most controversial thing an artist can achieve. Some 'legends' end up on drugs, some others continue to grow stronger, they appreciate what they have achieved and work as hard as still living in a cheap motel and are completely unknown. You can choose where you belong. History is the truth teller. #YOU_WONT_STOP_ME

Mistress Dita

Look at her mentioning the greatest album and book ever created! I feel so bad for her during Erotica era. Everyone was so nasty. They shouldve realized that A GOD was showing her fantasies.

1. So, in that case, we'll never know what the reaction would have been because it never happened. That was partly why Madonna stood out. It's not that a woman wouldn't dare to do what she did, it's that no one, man or woman, felt the need to put their fantasies into a book of photography if photography wasn't their day job. More than shocking, the project felt so random above all else. Random equals attention seeking in our minds and we tend not to like attention seekers.

2. Really, women using sexual expression as a form of liberation always confused me because men want us to be sexual. We're just giving them what they want. That's not liberation, that's submission to the status quo.

1. Not sure how random the idea behind SEX was, but, the story is the following: Judith Regan, vice-president and editor-in-chief of Simon & Schuster, flew to Los Angeles in March 1991 to meet with Madonna and her manager Freddy DeMann, and pitch the idea of a collection of photo-erotica coffee-table book. M had initially verified whether Regan had approached any other celebrities with this concept, as she would be interested to be a part of it only if it was a unique idea. By the end of the meeting Madonna had agreed "in principle" to do a book called Madonna's Book of Erotica and Sexual Fantasies. In the end M decided to do the book in partnership with Warner Books.

2. But M was one of the few who made it acceptable for women to express their desire/ need to get laid. I understand that it may pass off as promiscuity, but it's something that was always unacceptable for a woman to freely enunciate her sexual desires. Women are supposed to respond to such advances only if initiated by men. M always was and is sexual, but on her terms and not cattering to men's expectations/ assumptions of  female sexuality.

So, it was random. Someone pitched the idea to her completely randomly.

I'm not talking about a woman being free to be sexual, I'm criticising how some women choose to display this sexuality. Ways that are very damaging to the perception of women and then have the audacity to call it feminism. Even if it is something you like, be aware that it will play into a lot of men's fantasises at the same time. This is why I never display my penchant for submissivity in public because women are expected to be submissive enough as it is and I don't want to be reinforce existing gender expectations that can harm women. Women need to strong and show that they don't conform to men in public if we want gender equality. Women being sexual in public is already wanted and expected of us, you're only further adding to it by joining in. You can freely express your sexual desires in private. No need to make them everyone else's business, especially when young people can view them and get warped ideas of sexuality and take everything at face value as real and acceptable.
