Well, she is on stage accepting an award for woman of the year... I wouldn't expect her to be acting negligent of the title. She said it was an honor, and I certainly believe her. Her attitude (to me) was very honest and truthful - not always an easy pill to swallow, for sure. She would be foolish to denounce herself of the immense body of work and accomplishments she has achieved throughout the past 34 years while accepting an honor like this, not to mention it would be an insult to Billboard to state otherwise. Hearing her mention other artists that have passed and stating that she's still standing to me shows gratitude and strength. Despite the roadblocks she endured through the way, she preserved and has led to that moment. She knows things could've gone really bad had she fell to the criticisms over the years, fell fatally ill or into drugs or violence. She became stronger. This is not about her as a person but about how she has been discriminated and society has bullied her for being a woman. How many times has she been bashed because of her age when there are male artists like mick jagger (73) (who by the way just hand a kid with a woman 30 years younger and nobody complained) or because of expressing her sexuality when virtually every other male artist like MJ, prince or bowie did?
