The Chainsmokers are ruthlessly chastised for talking about the size of their dicks and who they sleep with, while their female peers are celebrated for similar behavior; because in 2016 women are allowed to have a liberated relationship with sexuality but men are just douchey pervs. Leonardo Dicaprio, Micheal Buble, and Rob Kardashian's weight is fodder for tabloids, as are John Travolta's hair plugs. The blogs had a field day comparing and contrasting the size and shape of Justin Beiber and Orlando Bloom's genitals. Calvin Harris was irrelevant before he got abs, artists like Shawn Mendes' would be irrelevant if not for their abs. Mick Jagger is mocked for his age, being overly sexualized, and still having children. That is just public figures. The gay men who make up almost the entirety of Madonna's fan base have to combat male gender norms on a daily basis, and develop eating disorders by holding themselves to the irrational Beckham standard of billboard beauty. Straight men are sold narratives from childhood to the day they die about what it means to be a real man. There are rules for everyone in our society. All I'm saying is the speech could've been written better, it's so cheesy. Considering the fact she's all those things she said the music industry 'wants her to be', and the rest of the speech is basically her bragging about herself.
