Maybe in your eyes, but there has never been a force as big as Adele in the industry. Look at her number in an era were albums don't even sell much anymore.

Gaga was never able to do that. Not even MJ, Madonna, The Beatles, etc. She's undeniably the biggest.

I'd hardly call her the best artist just because she's GP candy. I get it, she's super successful, but never has popularity been equated with the quality of the music. The GP is notoriously shallow, so imo, they just latched onto her for her talent and have basically just accepted in their minds that she is the best singer of her generation (Don't quote me on that. Gaga is more well-rounded, adventurous, and fun/interesting with her voice, showing equal ability to portray rawness and power, to give an example.)

I don't have a problem with Adele at all, and she is a fabulous artist, but just because your friends and family kiss her ass doesn't mean she's inherently the best.

Since your only reasoning for her being the best is based on numbers, I realize I can't sway a little chartster, so I'm just going to end this little dispute here

People kiss Adele's ass?! NOPE. Beyoncé is a good example of an artist whose ass people kiss. Adele is near universally loved. 

She has massive success because she is talented and loved, but she's not loved because she's successful. 

Im far from a chart watcher. Just go on my comment history and see me dig into little monsters for begging for chart success for Joanne! I don't even want the era to have any singles
