Gaga wrote this lyric exactly because of this.

Ohh thanks, I didn't know that. And here I am thinking I was being super clever

And it's like that you've stopped breathing but completely aware? :lolga:

Seriously, that sounds very unnerving. Does it feel like an out of body experience? I had sleep paralysis once and it was the weirdest sensation because I knew what was happening, but I couldn't get my body to move, almost as if I was outside my body.

I get sleep paralysis all the time. Its terrifying. So, is it similar to sleep paralysis?

But like. Gaga and Stefani act completely different. They even contradict each other.  The cheek to cheek era was pure Stefani. The Joanne era started out as Stefani now, Gaga is coming back out. Stefani is completely aware of Gaga coming out and taking control of the body.

It is unnerving, especially as there are different types of dissociation. There is what Zombie Aphrodite was talking about above, and then there is derealization/depersonalization http://www.calmclinic.com/anxiety/symptoms/derealization

From my experience, it is less unnerving once you know whats going on. Once it's been diagnosed and you understand it. Prior to that point, it is scary as heck as you don't know what is going on. (At least for me).

It was horrible. It felt like an eternity. I was laying there, and it was almost as if I didn't know how to move anymore. My eyes were kind of open and I could vaguely see my room. I saw a silhouette of someone sitting on my desk and an overpowering dread washed over me. I felt so powerless.

Im usually stuck in the dream when it happens. I know Im dreaming and I try so hard to scream and move my body but I can't wake up. I do eventually, but it takes way longer than I want it to.

That happened to me several times, try using all the force on your face muscles to open your eyes, it helped me out of that situation couple times
