It's about forgetting the haters, leaving them in the dust ,taking a puff and looking up at the mirror on the ceiling while getting off on how good you are :classy:

Gaga trying to make her own Shake It Off/Uptown Funk. A catchy, fun song. The energy you feel when you're ready to show all the haters what you've got. It's extremely braggadocios. She's telling the hater to given in and fawn over her because she looks so good and she knows it. Mirror on the ceiling refers to mirrors above beds where you can watch yourself having sex which would make the sex even sexier. (To Gaga, anyway)

Think about the moment when you're getting ready to go out for the night and you know you look amazing and you're ready to turn heads and make the haters jealous. Ready to find someone to take home and have a hot, steamy f*ck.

Eighteen

it's about a couple of things:

first: it's about smoking your haters

second: it's about getting your parter excited and then having sex.

and then throughout the song it's about both of these things here and there, like a double entendre.

as for the mirror on the ceiling part, she's said it refers to having sex and then looking up during intercourse to see it all on the mirror on the ceiling, so like someone is getting off on her body (cause she's spinning it in their face and ****), and then she looks up and she's getting off on them both. but i think that these same lyrics can be interpreted as saying **** you to your haters, telling them to get off on me, get off on my body, i'm bothering you so much that i'm all up inside you like a smoked cigarette, ****ing with your emotions (making you mad), and she's actually enjoying the fact that she's getting this kind of reaction from them, kind of making them look dumb cause she doesn't care. she likes that she's "smoking them all" in the sense that she's both turning them to dust (or leaving them in the dust) and maybe even smoking in the sense that she's making them angry (like the phrase "blowing steam out of one's ears"). the last part is probably a reach, but i like it and i think of the song that way hehe.

Hearing your haters, kicking ass anyway, and letting their negativity light your fire to keep you working hard just to shove it in their faces when you do well!

The "get off on me, my body's got you pleadin', light me up and breathe in, mirror on the ceiling"  I think is all just metaphorical fluff about her being hot, and 'smokin' them all', and maybe getting your high from her performances, and comparing her performances to the excitement of kinky sex with a mirror on the ceiling.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Where Diamond Heart is her past leading up to her becoming famous, I see A-YO as being about her rise to fame and how she quickly blew up and dominated pop culture (smokin' em all).

ALSO: i've created a storyline for the whole album but it's definitely a reach don't @ me. Joanne is about her struggling to maintain a relationship with her dad through the fame, John Wayne is about falling for Taylor (which can be seen as rooted in her daddy issues), Dancin' In Circles is about having to create a fantasy relationship because her fame isn't letting them have a fully realized one, PI is realizing the deep rooted problems with her relationships that she needs to address, MR is about praying for healing in those relationships, Sinner's Prayer is about realizing how her relationship with Taylor was rooted in her issues with her father and breaking it off because it's toxic (she compares her relationship to her sister's for this reason), Come to Mama could be about either her relationship with her own mother OR her finding strength in the healing relationships around her. Hey Girl is going back to your roots and catching up with old friends. Angel Down is about wanting to bring that healing to others. Girigio Girls is a bonus track because it adds to that healing narrative but isn't quite tied in or as necessary. And Just Another Day is her carrying on with her life as a strengthened woman.

Some of her songs on Joanne are pretty hard to decipher. Usually, we can pick up on it pretty easily, but all I really know about A-YO is it sort of has a "take that!" sort of message. It's not necessarily about being better, but just being confident and strutting your stuff.

The real question is, what is Sinner's Prayer about?? Maybe I'm just dumb, but I don't get it

Same in Sinner's Prayer. Whose heart is she trying to break? What happened at Daddy's feast? Who was there, what was said? Why did she put her sisters bf on blast? Does she wanna break his heart too? IDGI

The way I see it: The songs about a guy (Taylor) who pulled some kind of stunt at her father's dinner. Her family was present and no one saw his acting out coming except for Gaga, who knows him better than anyone else there. Maybe he revealed something he shouldn't have or got into a fight with her and stormed off. Either way, he upset her and everyone else was shocked. She wants to break his heart.

She put Nat's boyfriend on blast because he treats Natalie like Taylor treated her at the dinner. She's drawing parallels between her sister's relationship and her own. Someone that seems good but underneath isn't what they appear. A perfect illusion, like a fake bag from a shop on Fulton Street.
