The demo for Swine is truly better than the final cut

Yeah, they did just Aura.

It was weird to read that interview. Like, it wasn't like Zedd and Gaga completely stole it from them- they agreed, in some sense, right? And Zedd and Gaga added their own production/arrangement to it, too, so it wasn't like they just slapped their names on an arrangement that wasn't completely theirs.

Like, didn't they say they felt pressured, or something? It just makes them look really bad, imo. Kind of like sell-outs that turned their back on Gaga because it was trendy to do so.

the only good version of this song is live at itunes festival

I like the song, but the arrangement at SwineFest is probably one of the best she has done, tbh.

The piano and band intro is flawless.

It truly is

I listen to the demo more than the original. For those of you saying it's the same, it's definitely not. There's different vocals/backing, plus the longer instrumental. Listen to each version and you'll notice the difference 100%

her real vocals were altered and added in some parts as background vocals, anyone can do that. Demos usually have new instrumental, vocals, lyrics but this one is clearly fanmade. Aura, applause and Mary Jane Holland are the only legit demos we got from ARTPOP

Well they were sorta pressured cause you can't really say no on a deal like that, but they hated the final result calling it too pop and insisted not to have the "Infected Mushroom" name in the credits cause they didn't want anything to do with her fans or whatever, something to do with the fact that their music doesn't exactly sound like her aura so it would be misleading. and she did pretty much buy the final result that was then a bit reworked by zedd.

it's just annoying that they had to make the whole thing seem so messy, you either collab and be happy about it or don't at all imo.

if i'm correct this is the original version gaga bought

Huh. Now that you mention it, I can see why that would be a situation, in which that's a deal you essentially shouldn't say no to. At the same time, they were pretty rude about it.

idk, maybe I'm too used to how Gaga would do it- if she wouldn't like it, she wouldn't do it. That said, they are at a different place in the industry than Gaga, so I understand if they felt some sort of pressure, either monetarily or corporeally.

Also, it's really interesting to reference the different creative processes between albums. At least with production, it seems with ARTPOP that she occasionally built melodies (and even entire songs) around the production, as opposed to building it from the ground up (Joanne, probably BTW also more than ARTPOP).

What doesn't make sense to me, is that if they are so damn emberassed to have worked with Gaga, why would they give MORE press about it and make an interview completely bashing her? If they had just made the song I promise 98% of people wouldn't have ever even known it was from an infected mushroom demo. All they did was bring more attention to themselves and make themselves look like assh*les.

yeah that's what mostly disappointed me with ARTPOP tbh, it's great but it just doesn't feel like she put the kind of effort into it she could've. mary jane holland and donatella instrumentals weren't even her tracks initially and i'm pretty sure those weren't the only ones she added zero creative input to.

Guys it is a demo and the production varies slightly throughout. I remember when this leaked during the ARTPOP era. Also OP, I agree with you. The iTunes festival version trumps all, though, but that was meant to be live so it all worked out.

I remember all those demos except applause   is it the one where she's speaking gibberish? Or the one where there's no oohs in the bridge?

Agreed. I love the extended intro/outro and the minor changes here and there really stand out. :worship2:
