I'd just ideally not like her to win for 2 consecutive albums. Whoever wins, I hope it's someone who put a ton of their own input forward. But I think it's been made so that Beyonce will win. She is up for the most awards overall, Adele has been surprisingly limited and only got nominations for Hello despite Send My Love being somewhat of a hit. The academy gave the award to the year's bestselling album last time (1989) so they might not want to go down that route twice in a row and go in a slightly different direction. Plus, there was so many accusations of racism circling around (even I considered that theory) after Kendrick Lamar failed to win AOTY despite being up for more awards and winning more awards than the white winner of Taylor Swift. Meaning that if Beyonce doesn't win, the academy will be under attack and they might want to avoid that. This is Beyonce's third AOTY nomination and if she loses, her fans will be baying for blood for multiple reasons. That's partly why I can't stand her fanbase. They always act like it's the end of the world if she loses out on an award, even though she's drowning in Grammys and is the most nominated woman and the second most awarded woman in the history of the show. Good points. If Adele loses, I'll forget about it the next day. It's really sad to think Beyonce could lose and the racism card could be pulled out. (I do believe we have a lot of work to do in the US in terms or racism, but I don't think the music industry/award shows are even close to being one of the problems.) Like you said, she has tons of nominations and wins. I know Kanye was sort of out of it, but i could believe she insisted on winning at the VMAs in exchange for a performance. With the lack of authenticity to Lemonade, it just makes it hard to root for her. It won't change my world though if she wins.

I don't have a problem with racism being considered, provided there's good reasoning behind it, or better yet, is the only logical conclusion. That's what I did when Kendrick lost (and I didn't even like his album but I thought his loss was unjust based on the logic the Grammys were operating on). I racked my brains with every possible theory as to why he lost and couldn't think of anything other than racism. But so often, I encounter people who jump right in with the race card without even considering any other factors (of which there are usually many), factors that a lot of whites suffer from too, factors which would totally be considered if the same situation happened to a white person. If Beyonce wins the most awards on the night but doesn't get AOTY, I'll consider racism, but if she won the same amount or less awards than the person who does win, I'll consider other things. Agreed, there's so many bigger areas where racism needs to be sorted out, the music industry and awards shows are not one of them. Yet, it's the one a lot of people are bleating on about, as if a white person has never been snubbed in the history of time. When it happens to a white person, it's just 'one of those things' and maybe they just weren't good enough. When it happens to a minority, it's racism. This is what I talk about when I say that a certain portion of minorities aren't looking for equality, they just want special treatment. And the scary thing is, they don't even realise they're asking for special treatment. One of the first lessons we're ever told is "You can't get everything you want." Whites are encouraged to believe this theory more than ever nowadays, minorities are not. We can only be equal if we're all held to the same standards. Just as much you are allowed to believe that it's a good and "important" album, which seems like a total joke to me. Allow people to have an opinion even if it's different than yours. I don't think the part "Had it been Gaga who released that album, you would be praising it to heaven" is true, Gaga has received/still receives enough criticism from her own fanbase. indeed , we find flaw in everything she does
DavidJP 737
I think her new music sucks and she bores me. But her older stuff was flawless!

YeehawKylie 7,817
I think overall Beyonce is good. However, I don't think she's as good as her fans or the GP like to pretend she is. Her fan base are honestly the worst. I don't believe in the slightest that Beyonce is above any other pop diva out there, yet we're told she is on a level of her own. In my opinion, I'm sure a lot of hate comes from the points above.

I even saw the I Am tour. So I can definitely appreciate her talent. But in the past couple years, she's become this untouchable goddess that everyone must worship. and it's extremely annoying. Plus I get this fake vibe from her, even when she stands up for feminism and Black Lives Matter, it seems fake. And she's too polished, it's like she has to be flawless at all times, she doesn't even seem human anymore. She's just really hard to relate to. As for Lemonade, the way she used Jay-Z's infidelity seems more like a way to get people's sympathy. Her music just doesn't speak to me anymore. /\ This
juicyjuicy 1,985
It's good but lbr, it's extremely overrated. If Gaga released something like Lemonade, the GP would not be here for it.
