Thanks for insulting me since I'm a religious person. You guys should know best to never ever do generalizations. It's like if I was saying all gays act in a feminine way cause I've seen two gays acting like that. Your point is just really wrong. There are people dying on the streets and all she cares about is making laws for fully covered women (Even though I agree that a person shouldn't cover his/her face), she's just doing it all wrong, it's not like this that she will solve this "problem".

I bet it's probably not even a huge issue. This smells like a political tactic.

As for those saying these women and their clothing "have no place in our society" ...... I think that's a bit xenophobic. I know many women who wear hijabs (some want those taken away too) and I know one girl who wears a niqab and she is one of the nicest people I've met and she's well on her way on becoming an engineer. Guess she has no place in your society.

it's a good argument whether you're trying to disagree or not.

I doubt you'll see a western female tourist in a strict muslim country running around wearing booty shorts, they are expected to dress appropriately and at least wear long sleeves. And they do. So muslims should do the same when they come to a western country, respect the fact that people don't feel comfortable around you if you're hiding not only your whole body and hair but your face too.

you can say that it's not all about oppression that they choose to be that way etc but one way or another that mindset is still planted by extremist muslim men but before someone attacks me i'll stop there.

As a Jew, I feel the same way about Hasidic Jews. You are in the West now, it's time to become part of society.

If you choose to live in countries like Germany and the United States, you should want to synthesize to their culture.

As the grandchild of Eastern European immigrants, I still have parts of my culture, but when they came, they made an effort to become American i.e. learn english, celebrate thanksgiving, work in a secular place, etc

I also did not mean it on a personal level, but on a broad societal one. Most people who are very religious are indoctrinated at a young age and don't learn the requisite critical thinking skills or have the open mind/exposure to other ideas to evaluate personal beliefs. I'm not saying that's the case for you. Do you believe in the scientific method? Have you critically evaluated the basic tenets of the religion you believe in and used evidence to support the claims you believe to be true? If so, I completely understand why you believe what you do and think that it's great that logical, reasoned discussion plays a role in everything you believe. If not, I implore you to further evaluate your beliefs. I'm apologise if you felt insulted by what I said; that was certainly not my intention.

You just badly worded your opinion and thoughts but that happens to everyone, we all have flaws and we're bettering ouserlves every day.

I'm really open minded (I think I do, it's not entirely up to me to say thatI'm open minded or not) so when people present me something I always ask for proof and evidence, I don't want to blindly believe in something that seems irrational to me.

I also believe that every done in an extreme and excessive way is bad (religion or something else).

Do you have any studies to back up your statement? 99% is quite a lot and I am pretty sure that you're simply exaggerating because you haven't actually met women who cover up.

One thing she also said that "many ethnic Germans need to integrate themselves into our society as well", which I agree with.

A lot of Germans talk about "emancipation of the woman" only when they can sh*t on refugees, islam or other cultures with it, but at the same time promote archaic gender roles and discriminate women in every aspect possible.
