Sure, remind me next time when I say, for example "we all know 99% of Jews hate all non-Jews and just pretend to be nice, but they're actually cursing you inside". Which is...never. Remind also yourself that you agreed with that comment we are just discussing about. FreePalestine

So basically it could already go from your comments about settlers But now we getting off-topic. So we better stop right here.
Fascination 1,130
The Netherlands has been pushing for a ban on the burqa as well. I'm not muslim but I do feel like people should have the freedom to wear what they want without the legal system punishing them. If a muslim woman would like to wear a burqa then I don't see the point why people should ban the burqa then. In The Netherlands around hundred and fifty people wear the burqa. It takes a lot of time to push laws through, so I don't really see why it's so necessary to ban the burqa. Also, the topic starter said that people which want to wear the burqa should leave Germany which in my opinion is really a ignorant thing to say. I mean, why would you ban someone out of the country just because they want to wear a burqa? They are humans too, and they are peaceful people wanting to live in a way that they think is the correct one probably. And in all honesty, I don't think anyone here has spoken with someone that wears a burqa.

Fascination 1,130
I think there is a really big difference between wearing clothes because of your religion and wearing no clothes at all. And there are already places where people can be fully naked, like nudist beaches and campings Melech.
TiphEret 1,320
3 hours ago, Melech said: You said that "why did she let those people in the country" I think. But the most people who wear burqa are people with German citizenships and most immigrants actually are not wearing a burqa. So this issue is not neccssarly against immigration. And yes I do think that Merkel would show same devotion against other religious extremism. Well people from Afghanistan for example were not born in germanty, so even if I don't refer to Syrian it doesn't change the fact that immigrants are allowed in Germany. Then she comes up with something as ridiculous as "we can't cover our faces". Trust me in winter you won't see my face because it's ****ing cold, so I think such argument is ridiculous. She should at least be honest and say, well we consider the burqa against our cultural values and decided we will not tolerate it, which I think is still an attack on individual freedom because people are too uncomfortable to deal with difference and I think that's dangerous. Also this does not help these women at all. if you really think they are forced (which we cannot know) do you think their family/husband will let them go uncovered? of course not, so they will end up being even more isolated. Hence, in my conclusion these is going against women's rights, because isolation is a huge factor in environment of abuse. So if those women are forced and gave limited freedom, the state is actually not helping but perpetuating isolation and exclusion. It won't solve any safety issue and it won't solve the problem of religious extremist nor radicalization. So I think it's just glitter in the face of a bunch of ignorant islamophobe instead of trying to really integrate people and make them feel that they matter and they belong. Why would you have migrants in the first place if you are going to treat them like ****? Some people think they know everything about the world and the people in it, when in reality they only know what's fed to them from random sources, till they believe that only their opinion is valid. We've seen many examples just in this thread alone
