The MJH Demo is better than the final cut

the intro and outro, it has me so shook.

Yeah, the vocals need cleaning up because it's a demo, but the different notes she goes up on and the electronic sound of it:giveup::queenga:

Just imagine the intro at the artRave

She needs to make her albums sound more like her live versions.

It sounds a lot more psychedlic which is befitting the song and the album :music:

For the intro/outro, she probably thought it's too reductive considering G.U.Y. already has it.

CAN YOU IMAGINE OMG:

a 60's styled black and white theme at first. Gaga and the dancers walk out in boring plaid clothes and gags is in a short brown wig as the reporter says the intro, as he says "crime and violence" they pull out blunts and lighters and tear away their plaid clothes to reveal the crazy artrave outfits, gaga pulls off that boring ass brown wig to show that luxurious green one and they break out into dancing to match the lyrics. towards the end they get even more wild, dancers throwing fake alcohol on everyone as they all dance and sing, and they end up passing out on the ground and the lights fade as the reporter says "crime and violence" again

Sorry, but no. The only part that is better imo is the absence of those backing vocals in the verses:

"Lady of the ‘dam
Won’t be a slave to the blonde
Or the culture of the popular
(She won’t, she won't)"

They were unnecessary, and disrupt too much of that powerful instrumental. The same goes for the chorus of Sexxx Dreams, where I'd definitely cut those backing vocals she added last minute:,

"Last night,
Damn you were in my sex dreams (you were in my dreams)"

Sometimes simplicity is the way.

Au contraire, I think "Mary Jane Holland" is one of the songs on ARTPOP that is perfect the way it is.

I've never particularly liked Mary Jane Holland but this is my first time hearing the demo :music:. I like it tbh.

Love both versions. Can totally see what she was going for with the demo, though.

The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥
