even if you take out the "dude in a labcoat", "psychic guru minnows in the harbor", it could be a song Gaga would write if she gets better at lyrics, cause it's something she needs to improve, you can tell her struggle to make try and rhyme and it's cringey, other times it makes no sense or it's simply too roundabout.

Why is everyone thinking she changed the direction of the album after Bowie died ? It was obvious she was going to do something more "authentic" and she started to work with Mark Ronson at the end of 2015. And she started to talk about music as a way to heal before Bowie died, I remember her interview with Diane Warren just a week before, where she mentioned Bowie among the artists who healed her through music.

To me it almost sounds like she wrote it years ago, before The Fame. It's very old-school Stefani to me.

Just because Mark produced it doesn't mean the song is less than a year old. She could've written and even recorded a ( version ) of it years ago. 

I do in general feel a lot of the songs seem to be about Taylor in some way, making it seem like Millions Reasons, Perfect Illusion, John Wayne and Sinners Prayer are the newest songs.
