Jonathanholland 5,429
Saint Merkel Seriously tho, she will go down in history as a great politician. I have great respect for her and her moral political choices. I agree that children shouldn't be used in politics as said above, but on the other hand she has done many things for those immigrants and I can tell the boy really meant what he said Before there was love, there was silence

How about when the politics are DIRECTLY related to the children? This isn't a cute girl saying she likes Donald Trump because he looks like a teddy bear, this is a boy whose life was saved by this policy. Obviously he needs to be heard. chaeri pls

Just because it was denied it doesn't mean they need to leave directly because Syria is not safe. They now can stay for one year (and can it even make 2 years longer). And then if they got german skills and other requirements they can stay in Germany.

Almost any policy involves saving lives. That does not mean that every single individual affected by any sort of policy should be directly heard. More importantly , a very young kid who can barely speak German (and I am not blaming him for that, obviously) can't offer much factual insight. Hence, he is being used because of his emotional appeal - worse, he is being used in front of cameras because of that.
