There's plenty of artists (especially classic rock ones) that released them super early in their careers... 

The Eagles had their first Greatest Hits album 5 years into their career...

Are you not seeing this woman no longer wants to be a pop star. So her releasing a greatest hits album isn't unreasonable. Maybe we'll get a residency like Britney has been doing for years.
