This is what killed AP era and made people dislike her: endless rants about what is art and about what it means to be an artist and blah blah blah. Do i have a problem with jeans and shirts? No. The problem is that she promised something she was unable to fulfil. But those are details. In 2009, she told the world constantly that she was in charge of all her music videos, performances, outfits, etc etc etc. That was clearly a lie.

Do i have a problem with PI's music video? With Joanne's hat? NO! The problem is she lied. I never thought i'd say this, but i'm afraid she built her career at the expense of a great amount of lies.

She did tho. It is too obvious. It was to obvious since 2011/2012. I don't have a problem with that. She can contradict herself and lie all she wants, she is only human.

The one that made Gaga be LADY GAGA was Dada Williams. Since he left Gaga hasn't been the same. Yes, the music was there and the rest of the team (Laurienann Gibson, etc) still came up with cool ideas, but they were never on the same level as Dada. 

Gaga can still do cool things because she is friends with creative people and she has learned a lot also, but She doesn't have the factor that made her image unique and interesting.

Sorry but you seem like a complete brat. She used to say those things about not wanting to wear jeans 8 ****ing years ago. People change, for ****s sake. Are you the same person you were 8 years ago? 

And she always was in charge of her career, you know damn well. She never did something she didn't want to do. The difference is that she had the best team to help her visions come to life. Lady Gaga is a singer, not a music video director, a stylist, a photographer, etc. 

Gaga is clearly going into a new direction, not just with her career but also with her life. She used to work so hard she almost lost the ability to walk. Now she realised that it isn't worth it. It sure sucks for us because we won't get the same ammount of material we had in the past but who the **** cares? In the end it's just a ****ing pop singer. You guys make it seem like your life is over because of it lol.

But having a music video in 2016 vs 2010 is completely different. Slowly the culture of music videos has died off, and people don't really care for them as much unless it's viral. Videos don't go viral for being artistic anymore either, it's usually dumb things like Drakes dancing or the mannequin challenge.

That's not true, music videos don't make back money, they're just a normal part of an album campaign Gaga isn't partaking in anymore for some reason. The smallest of indie acts push out multiple videos each album cycle.

I came in here all excited because I thought you all were going to argue and it's low key entertaining as funk watching half of you meltdown and the other half castigate the others. But it turns out basically everyone is melting down which makes this thread simultaneously amazing and the most depressing funking thing I've ever read! This is the Bad Romance of meltdown threads because we're never going to get one as glorious as this.

It's the only thing i am dissapointed in gaga for.I loved her music videos and then just after i become a fan the music videos become a mess. The first music video premeire i was waiting for was with teog and i was really excited because i had heard mermaids, the teal hair and so and then we got that thing... Atleast I loved You and i and Marry the night but then we had to wait 2 years for 1 video that was meh but still pretty good. G.U.Y is one of my favorites but we should have gotten maybe 4-5 music videos from ARTPOP era not 2 . I hope even if she doesn't have any big hit this era she keeps releaseing music videos every 2 months or so we can atleast enjoy 4-6 music videos this era.

It disappoints me as a fan. I've always loved music videos since I was a kid. They're entertaining and they tell a story. Gaga's storytelling in her videos is always incredible, which is part of why I love them so much. With ARTPOP, I was REALLY looking forward to the visuals because the music is honestly great and to experience the music along with visuals, it would have been the coolest sh*t ever. It's the same with Joanne. Such a great album that deserves visuals to go with. 

P.S. I'm upset about Lana's Honeymoon era as well for lack of visuals. More than we got with ARTPOP and Joanne so far, but still. It's just a disappointment more than anything. Not really sure why artists are giving visuals the boot

They can't jump the ship probably because of nostalgia (though from now on, she'll have less and less fans every day) or because they still admire her (my case). I still admire her enormous talents. I'm still getting to know Joanne though. From what i've seen, she's not good at visuals, but she's strong at performances. And she sings directly from her heart. 

I don't think it was just "7 years of lies", though. Do I think some parts were exaggerated and possibly made just to highlight this "Gaga character"? Yes. 

However, she was who she was at the time. People grow, people change, sometimes for better or for worse depending on how you look at it. Joanne is her most authentic album, but that is not to say Born This Way, ARTPOP, TF/TFM were just figments of our imagination. 

Each album and each era prior to this was, like I said, who she was at the time. She's a forever evolving and changing artist, I mean, are we going to expect LG6 to be like Joanne? I'm not, at least. She's said it before in the "Actors on Actors" interview that Stefani and Gaga are not two separate entities. She's still very much Gaga, still very much Stefani. 

I think the reason behind the lack of visuals this era is because it's simply not needed. There's no existential, higher-up artistic meaning, it's literally just her talking about her life and things that have influenced her. There's no need for these crazy and eclectic costumes, no need for gigantic, out-of-this-world sets, it would take away from the message that she's trying to communicate, which is also something she's said throughout this era.

Hey, I get it. You may feel lied to and hurt, but she's not going to be the same person through and through, she's going to continue to change and evolve, we just have to learn to accept it and follow her along.

Why do we keep blaming everything else but Gaga and the album  If the music was catchy/radio-friendly and Gaga had done some decent promo, it might be a different story
