true but a lot of voters are idiots. i can see how although jill stein is liberal, perhaps a chunk of them voting for DT instead, and perhaps even more than half of GJ voters doing that as well (as we've seen 5 percent of bernie supporters do in the election, people who are supposed to be some of the most liberal people).

I think Gary Johnson is actually quite moderate-right leaning in an aggregate... I believe in some ways socially he's a progressive... economically, hes a conservative though, pretty through and through. Which is fine. I have nothing against the idea of conservative or republican economics, just certain specific applications of them  

On some of the more contentious social issues, hes moderate-right leaning (e.g, planned parenthood should be funded, but not for abortions themselves; however women should have the right to choose regardless), but I think in general he's socially progressive or moderate-left leaning. 

Interestingly enough, Gary Johnson, despite being the face of the "libertarian" party, actually seems quite more honest and down to earth than his supporters... There were a lot of almost alt-right, deplorable, kind of more radical candidates for his party. When I think of Libertarians I've met on the internet throughout the years, Gary Johnson seems far removed from them, which is great  

Tea Party Republicans and "Christian Right" are the far far right subsets, but interestingly enough while Libertarians have similarities with both of these groups, they don't majorly identify as either (As in, well under half of Libertarians ID with these subsets) but I'm getting off on a tangent. In light of this, I think lots of Gary Johnson voters could have voted Hillary, especially since he wasn't constantly on the trail talking about how criminal she was (from what I remember).

Libertarians are just anti-state, they lean towards the right.

It's basically all conjecture about who pulled votes away from whom. It's not unthinkable that libertarian-ish voters could break for the Dem candidate, though: on social issues, Dems and libertarians are actually more philosophically aligned than libertarians and Rupubs (though, they might disagree on how to achieve their desired results). It might have been enough to squeak her through, though likely not.

The more likely culprit was the late Comey letter to Congress, especially given the poll results of late-deciding voters. The Comey letter was clearly a political calculation and one that will be much discussed in the future, especially given some of the revelations about the Hillary animus driving certain branches of the FBI.

Of course, things like that are precisely why we deserve a recount!

Lol @ everyone who thinks Jill somehow influenced Trump' s win... Gary Johnson got three times as many votes as Jill, so by this very broken logic, his influence was greater in "supporting" Hillary than Jill was, to Trump. Additionally, third party voters generally don't vote for the elite parties, so there was  never a vote to lose. Votes are earned, not entitled. This thinking is how we end up with such corrupt politicians. Oh yeah, and there's the fact that neither Jill or Gary got a single electoral college point, so... yeah....
