I use Spotify to listen to albums, singles, etc. What I end up liking, I purchase. I know not everyone is like me...but I invest a good amount of money in the music I like. I appreciate that Spotify allows me to preview the albums and songs prior to purchasing. It's actually introduced me to smaller artists I never would have heard of prior. Now I own their albums. :poot:

Well the conclusion to the video is that Spotify is just as evil as record companies and that everyone thought every single new music revolution would kill the industry which didn't happen, so...

Spotify has the potential to make music more reachable all over the world. Though it could harm markets that traditionally buy music (UK, US, Germany), it could make markets that don't (the Philippines, Brazil, Indonesia and in the future India and China) way more profitable, thus increasing revenue.

If you look at the Swedish music market growth you can see that streaming actually increases music revenue, even in places where there is a tradition of buying albums.

Yes, this is more about the effects on the general Western industry.
