Why does this happen every era?

Another thing is, maybe this DOES happen with other artists but it goes unnoticed because they are not subjected to the microscope treatment like Gaga is... 

Gaga is literally criticized by EVERYONE over everything. Her outfits, her social views, her lyrics, her hair, and most definitely her musical direction. People have this expectation of her and if she sways from it the slightest everyone goes into a panic.

I happened during the BTW era too after Judas flopped. It definitely doesn't bother me at all, she can do whatever she wants! People will  complain no matter what she does though.

This could be true. Gaga is such a megastar that any bit of information regarding her, especially her music, can be leaked. Artists probably do this often, but it's just more hush-hush because they're not as big as Gaga so the info isn't valuable enough to leak.

Plus, at GGD, fans are subject to more information leakage/rumors than fans that aren't on here. There are probably a lot of (less die-hard) fans that never knew A-YO was going to be a single at one point, so they aren't feeling any resistance toward Gaga's team. They're just enjoying the album era.

Sometimes I think being so attached to GGD ruins my experience with Gaga's albums and eras. Aside from fans complaining constantly, rumors and leaked info often just lead to disappointment for no reasons. At least in my case.

Understand you completely. I just don't care anymore. I just have different expectation for my pop girls and when it comes to this era it's still low after the DWUW fiasco.

Because talent always wins. It's not like A-Yo is better than Million Reasons, Million Reasons is a relatable song and screams Gaga classic. A-Yo is just another song everyone expects from a pop-star. If you want Gaga to push her boundaries, she should just continue what she is doing with this. 

Some of you guys are really reaching, let go of TFM & BTW Gaga, she will never return and deal with it. 

A new batch of pop girls arrived already, don't expect Gaga to be in there. She already proved herself to be remembered, there's no need to pull a Bitch I'm Madonna and come out with something controversial when it's not needed at all. 

Gaga grew up, and so should 80% of this fanbase.

What annoys me is, she can only have one successful single at a time. If the promo one does better than the planned one, the planned one drops out the charts completely, there can only be one success. On the other hand, there are other singers - Justin, Drake, Rihanna, Beyonce, who can have multiple songs in the charts at once, even in the top 10. Last year, Justin made history by being the first ever act to have a single at #1, #2 and #3 in the UK charts. Why can't Gaga have 2 successful songs at once like them? It's so not fair, especially because her music is so much better.

I actually have been getting annoyed at Gaga's singles choices. They're picking the most "radio-friendly" songs when they should be picking the songs that are actually showcasing Gaga's talent and individuality. 

It happened with Born This Way, ARTPOP, and now Joanne. Music not the bling, but the single choices they're making clearly look like they're taking the safest path when Gaga should continue being the face of innovation.
