Say what you want, but he is a great producer and an incredible musician. He is a genius and one of the most influential producers ever in hip-hop. He might be OTT, he might go on rants but it's like - it doesn't work both ways. People like Kanye's work because he is a transgressive, opinionated, controversial and braggadocious artist who truly works to push the boundaries in his work. At the same time though people seem to want this artist to be demure, respectful, mellow and polite outside of that space. Like, of course Kanye is a raging egomaniac - of course he goes on rants like this. Of course he is constantly getting himself in trouble for saying things he shouldn't say. The same qualities that make him arrogant and crazy outside of his work make him as good as he is with his music and art." He shouldn't have walked off stage after 3 songs, that's not cool. People spent a lot of money on tickets, they worked hard and spent their hard earned money on this concert. They deserve a full show or they should get their money back. With the sort of person Kanye is though it's like okay he is going to have a meltdown, he is going to have some rant, he is going to interrupt someone on stage, he is going to have an egomaniac moment and compare himself with Walt Disney and Steve Jobs. What makes him a great artist doesn't necessarily translate into making him a great person. Give the people their money back, but know that the artist you are a fan of is the artist they are because their mind works differently from most people. He is a great artist because he is an egomaniac who is constantly looking to break the rules, is highly opinionated and is a little disconnected from reality.
