It was released on November 19, 1986 and went on to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was Madonna's fifth number-one single in the US. Fun fact: it was originally written for Cyndi Lauper. This used to be on the radio every morning and I'd camp around the radio just to hear this song. To me both Madonna and Lady Gaga are beyond the standards of textbook definition of "Pretty". The way they carry themselves off with confidence and attitude with each outfit like incredibly beautiful to watch. They don't care about something so shallow as looking "Pretty".
