Well according to some posts on here, usage of the word ****** constitutes you as a racist and he has used that word so how is it any different?

Notice the video begins before we know what the student did to be thrown out of the classroom. It's clear that none of the students are respectful to her authority (I can't say I'm surprised). 

Before she says what everyone is so upset about she says "learn something". 

 

Everyone sees a white woman saying ******, but no one asks the question "why would someone go to that extreme and say something that is sure to have her terminated". 

If a black teacher had said that this wouldn't even be a thing because there is such a double standard. 

I'm not saying what she did is right or wrong because I don't know the whole story- but I do know that under intense pressure people sometimes snap and say things without thinking them. 

 

And please, the phrase niggers getting shot has been used by hip-hop, rap artists. 

 

 

but nevermind me, im going to go check my white privilege. Maybe the teacher needs a safe space so she doesn't lose her cool again.  

 

Also- OP- the title is misleading. None of us know this teacher personally so calling her a racist for a short clip of a video and something she said in an obviously stressful situation is a bit uncalled for / bigoted. Just because she had a fit of anger and said something I'm sure she will regret does not make her a "racist". Racism is a practiced habit- out of desire or subconsciousness. One particular recorded incident of questionable rhetoric does not make someone a racist.

Any sane teacher would have said "Don't you want to have a better life?" and try to educate these kids. 

The appropriate response would have been to get a higher authority.

Imagine you move to America and you sit together with students of Middle Eastern origin, some of you become loud and obnoxious, irritating the teacher and he or she yells at all of you: "shut the **** up, you sand n***ers camel jokey terrorists!" It's very specific racial slur and insult, no amount of anger justifies it.

You certainly think this teacher is a racist. Pick your criteria and live by it. It's your rules, not mine. I don't lose sleep over this stuff every night. You do. 

Im stating that calling this teacher a racist for saying "niggers" in a heated moment is not justifiable. 

You on the other hand obviously spend a great deal of time pointing out how white's prey on blacks daily- are you sure that you are not in your own right a racist? Because I believe this goes both ways. 

How is this teacher more wrong than you when this was a one time recorded incident but you yourself are constantly charging white people with racism, seemingly 24/7. The fact that you spend that much time looking for it clearly shows that you have a prejudice, whether you're able to realize that or not. (and you do all this at your own leisure and not in a work setting).

So people are not allowed to make mistakes? Should this always be the punishment? Would you feel the same way if you lost your cool (and are you telling me that you have never) and said something you didn't mean?

If it were to be discovered that the black student called the white teacher a "cracker ass honkey" prior to the video beginning, should the student be expelled? Or should he be given a chance to rectify his mistakes? After all, school is about education and preparing individuals for the real world. We wouldn't want to falsely prepare the student for his career and set a precedent for him to believe he would not be fired from a job for calling someone a "cracker ass honkey".
