These two things are separate tho. Yes, students behave bad and disrespectful towards teachers, but teachers need to find a method to calm them down or sanction them in a way or call bigger authority. 

I'd understand if she called them all idiots out of anger, but she was very specific in her insults, racial slurs like that are never justified.

Shaun King is a racist, who literally uses racial issues as a backbone for his career. I love how he is always sharing questionable things, but never offers solutions. 

Notice the video begins before we know what the student did to be thrown out of the classroom. It's clear that none of the students are respectful to her authority (I can't say I'm surprised). 

Before she says what everyone is so upset about she says "learn something". 

 

Everyone sees a white woman saying ******, but no one asks the question "why would someone go to that extreme and say something that is sure to have her terminated". 

If a black teacher had said that this wouldn't even be a thing because there is such a double standard. 

I'm not saying what she did is right or wrong because I don't know the whole story- but I do know that under intense pressure people sometimes snap and say things without thinking them. 

 

And please, the phrase niggers getting shot has been used by hip-hop, rap artists. 

 

 

but nevermind me, im going to go check my white privilege. Maybe the teacher needs a safe space so she doesn't lose her cool again.  

 

Also- OP- the title is misleading. None of us know this teacher personally so calling her a racist for a short clip of a video and something she said in an obviously stressful situation is a bit uncalled for / bigoted. Just because she had a fit of anger and said something I'm sure she will regret does not make her a "racist". Racism is a practiced habit- out of desire or subconsciousness. One particular recorded incident of questionable rhetoric does not make someone a racist.

I already said she shouldn't be a teacher, and I'm not saying what she said was right, at all. But just like when I get so heated up that I actually call my mother a ***** even though I would never do that in my full mental capabilities, that seemed to be the same thing, and it happens to all of us. She deserves to be fired for her poor teaching skills and unexcusable insults but I'm more in her sympathy because if you look at it without trying to be politically correct, she's the victim. You all do realize the terrible, awful things these students must be saying about her in evil triumph right now, right?

This video is a proof of the lack of respect between two communities..

To sum it, all I see is a group of people who are doing a hell for another, then the poor person says a racist comment that shouldn't have been said at all and the group starts to cry..

This teacher should be fired immediately and the students must sent to a proper place that will give them a proper education that they need with teachers that can handle them.

I don't understand why people are only targeting her for what she said. Yes, it was racist and she shouldn't have done it but the students were being a**holes too. She wouldn't have done this unprovoked.

I know they're minorities and racism is prevalent in the U.S (among other countries too but not the point) but it shouldn't make them the only victim in the situation. Racism isn't the only offence in the world.

I'm not defending the teacher at all, of course, she has every right to yell (I feel) but no right to comment about their race. But why focus on ONE teacher only when there's a whole class of students misbehaving as well? Isn't respecting and listening to your teachers & elders important too?

 

Okay, I feel like this is a really polarizing topic and some people will support the teacher, some the students and others will support neither. I'm not attacking anyone who doesn't have the same opinion as me and I hope I won't be either for expressing my thoughts.
