That's exactly what she deserved. Something like "you ungrateful little sh*ts" might get you a suspension. Using hate speech or physical assaults should be immediate termination. 

There are hundreds of thousands of teachers every year that are dealing with personal situations in their lives that are horrible. They manage to refrain from hate speech directed at their students and physical assault.

I just think that we crucify people too much for their choice of words. And my opinion would literally remain the same regardless of this situation. 

If the teacher literally premeditated a racist action like "Okay class, I don't like you niggers because ya'll are just going to grow up and be shot- I can't stand the sight of you so all blacks to the back and all whites to the front" Yes. Fire. Her immediately. But a disrespectful student (which we still don't know what provoked this) was clearly under her skin. And yes training exists and so forth- so do flight simulators for pilots but it never prepares you for sudden unexpected events that calculate your pre-disposition (mood, current life events, so forth). We still don't know what was going on.

I am not defending her but I have a problem with the precedent of firing people over words.

But let's be specifically clear- if the student were white and wearing a Trump shirt and the teacher were black this is exactly what would be said on here: 

"He needs to be arrested / expelled for hate speech" 

There shouldn't be a set of events for race A and a set of events for race B. 

 

The school board would be forced to expel the student to prevent white supremacy labels, riots, and vandalism and protests. That's how this works. Everyone would seek justice for the teacher- even though if the rolls were reversed it would be "oh he's just a kid". "he made a mistake".

No, she was fired because she's a racist and school boards don't accept racism nor do they want to be perceived in that light. But says a lot about you, a racist, assuming that blacks people will riot and vandalize the school if she was not fired.

Place yourself in the shoes of black people. If a teacher called you the f word and she wasn't fired, wouldn't you feel like the system is paying you dust? You would feel absolutely terrible, and disenfranchised from people who are supposed to protect you.

We don't know what this kid did to provoke such a reaction, and again, being the racist that you are, you are making assumptions about him and the students. Yes, the class is shook, but that's what happens when a teacher goes off in such a way.

Even without the n-word she is terrible. It's just unprofessional to call your students idiots, yell at the top of your lungs and swear at them. Adding in the n-word, no excuse.  
I get that teens can be know-it-all asses at times, but it's the adults job to be calm about it and educate; if she felt like she couldn't do that, get a new job not call them racist names and lose your mind.

There's absolutely no reason to yell. Even just the yelling sets a precedence. That's no environment to learn and flourish in.

I know that. Mexicans, Hindus, Sikhs, Armenians, other ME Christians are often mistaken for "evil mozzlems", because many people are that ignorant and hateful. In that scenario, you'd be targeted based on your ethnicity.

I just said that, to imagine, to put yourself in their(students') shoes, since your first comment was "I'm on the teacher's side" and you gave example of what you say in anger. It's just not the same.
